Hi All,
I have been searching for 2 cheap media players, they dont need to contain HDD as I have plenty of them, one will have to have networking capabilites and the other nothing flash, as long as it plays most files and has firmware upgrades. I would like to find something under $100 but want it to play most files, I saw the WDLiveTv listed but not sure what the preformance is like.
Any idea or help in this area would be great.

Was $79. PVR ready function via USB, supports MP3/WMA/JPEG/BMP/PNG/ motion JPEG/AVI/VOB/MOV/MKV formats, HDMI/component/ coaxial/AV outputs, parental control, comes with remote control.
GoLo, $49 HD STB with USB port…that is all! ;)

I bought it about a year ago when paypal was giving the $20 cashback, best thing I’ve purchased online.
Only qualms is that it doesn’t support .mkv files, 2.1 stereo and it has 1 USB port opposed to 2 as advertised. But hey, for about $30, you can’t really complain.
There are some for approx $25 on DX which are allegedly also 720p.
edit: It supports my 3.5” 1TB external HDD/powersupply no problems. You also need to buy a Chinese->Australian adapter which is available on their site for like $2 or something with free shipping.
For something a bit more flashy with network capabilities you could check out the media player on www.mp4nation.net IIR it's 1080p at around $80ish.
