It’s not immediately noticeable but seems like Officeworks have changed a lot in the last five years or so. Apart from headline items like 15c ruled books, many basic items have doubled or tripled in price. At the same time selection of items has significantly reduced (i.e. two or three tape dispensers to choose from, used to be heaps).
Is this due to lack of competition? Or is it just the same as Supercheap, JB Hifi, etc where they go through a long period of low prices to earn the reputation of being cheap and then start jacking up prices?
It's probably market and $ value. I always found office work cheaper when comparing market, and they always price match and better refund policy than anyone else.
