  • Does this have Carplay/Android Auto?

    • I don't think so. It doesn't say so in the description plus the price suggests Android Auto and/or Apple CarPlay is/are absent.

  • Personal experience with Pioneer is they don't seem to offer any maps, firmware updates or general support for their units much after release.

    I eventually convinced them to send me an update, which arrived in the mail on an SD card with instructions to return it, i appreciated it, but no comparison for having firmware and support posted on their web site.

    Was a big enough issue with the unit i got in a used car i bought to get a Kenwood replacement.
    Not worth negging about, but might be something people might want to know.

        Exactly my point.
        They generally don't seem to want to list their firmware updates online (on the AU site anyway?).
        Took some convincing for them to offer to mail it, i thought it was a stupid idea, but better than nothing.

        In this day and age of relatively cheap electronics the turnover of models and lack of support is a real concern.
        Would be nice to see them support each model with 5 years worth of updates and new features, but most manufacturers nominate not to further innovate on a released product, not ideal but tolerable, whats worse though is they will rarely fix bugs too.

        They have a very limited selection of firmware available here, but each drop down seems to just say "No SI Sheets Product"

        When researching the replacement the the Pioneer i had issues with it was good to see Kenwood seem to have their finger on the pulse with updates…
