Accidentally Drove onto One Way Merge Lane

Hi all.

Today I probably made the stupidest mistake of my life whilst driving tonight.

Was on my way to a friends place on the m4 and needed to turn right, was in the correct lane so when I saw the gap in the road I turned right … it was at this pout mid turn that I realised I (profanity) up hard as I turned into a one way (opposite to the direction I was driving) merge from another highway… this dreaded feeling was confirm by the red “Wrong way turn around sign”. Fortunately this is during the night and nobodies on the road so I was able to instantly turn the car around…. but I still feel like (profanity).

Anyways the real question is if I’m going to get penalised for this … :(

      Apologies, sarcasm didn't come through. I'm certain you did once you realised!

      I've done the same into a one way in the middle of Sydney CBD. Came face to face with a wall of oncoming buses! haha

      Quickly glanced around, saw a driveway and instantly backed into it. Let the buses pass and then came back out, the right way ^_^

      You'll be fine unless you got photographed.
