Hi All,
Flying out from BNE to LAX a month from now on a Virgin VA7 flight… it's a Boeing 777-300ER, which supposedly has a 5v USB charging outlet in the seat.
With tablets phones etc, and even our noise cancelling headphones being USB - is there a possibility of running a small 2-3 port USB hub powered off the 5v outlet in the seat?
I have usb battery packs as well - but just curious if the USB hub would work as an alternative.

Don't forget the time travelling to the airport and the time spent waiting around before boarding. And then the time from getting off the plane to whatever destination. It can easily add another 5 hours to that flying time alone.
Electronics tend to not last 20 or so hours of continuous use. Powerbanks are so popular now because of this.
Still, it's an overkill especially when OP has power banks as well.
Guess it's a personal thing, but I like to be as charged up as I can be (battery wise!) when I get off that plane.
So where possible, I'd keep the charge in my device or powerbank.
Yeah - just looking to have a charged up phone on the other end - as we can't check into our hotel for some 5 hours after we land - so we're going to potter around LA, I just want to make sure I can snap some pics when I need to :)
You won't get enough power so there's no point doing that…
Your tablet should last most of your flight, same with your phone.
Use your portable power packs.

Bring long cables, make friends with the neighbours.
You won’t need it. I’ve flown to the US several times and one powerbank, one usb in seat has been enough to keep everything fully charged by the time I reached my destination. Take one if you want but really, you won’t need it.
I'd take a powerbank. Half the time I've tried to use the USB ports they are either busted or recharge ability is pitiful.
