dont know.
RRP $2,499 eg Appliance world. The Good Guys sale $1705 but want to know if this is a good reliable TV from you Ozbargain experts…
It depends on if you "want" or "need" it.
IMO I would wait another month around March/April, a new generation/round of TVs are coming hence it would be heavily discounted.
The 634T is the iteration down from the 654T however I would assume the panels are the same.
There are some good reviews for this TV. Unfortunately, there is no real information from the LG site (only JB and other sites that sell it) about this specific model.
I would say that this TV would be way better than the cheapies, Kogan, Bauhn, JVC and the like.
Cheers
Have heard that this model have some black display issue (showing dark blue instead of black).
Haven't been able to find any pro-reviews based on this panel. LG have historically had some issues (among other manufacturers) with DSE and banding, I'm not entirely sure why this is the case, but one person claims that they returned this panel b/c of these issues. Note that not all LG panels, or any other manufacturer for that matter have these issues by default, it's almost always a case-per-case basis IMO, however some panels do have more susceptibility based on their design and structure etc.
My advice would be that if your interested in this panel that you buy it from somewhere that will allow you to return it based on whether you find it has banding or DSE issues.
Yes. Agree.
I have the UH770T 2016 model and it does have slight DSE and banding. However I can live with it.
The image quality is still fantastic however in the dark, you can see the local dimming array light the screen up proportionally with the moving image.
This can be annoying for some however I can live with it. However the brightness is fantastic and very fast screen for 4K gaming for its price at the time.I didn't comment specifics (DSE… etc) regarding my original post as this is not the same TV as the OP's model.
However I wouldn't be surprised if it behaves the same as mine, as LG IPS screens are inherent with this issue. (DSE & Banding)The OP has to factor cost, size & image quality.
The good thing about this TV is that it has HDR (10bit - 8Bit dithering - NTC) and a 100Hz screen (well it may be jargon-filled "Field Rate" rubbish and really 60Hz)
A .. good all-rounder for the money IMO.If image quality is paramount, then the OP has to look at the Sony X9000E+ or OLED C7T but as we all know, they aren't cheap.
Cheers
