  • Hardly a bargain. Highest price it's been on OzBargain. Better to wait for a better deal/code.
Given the exchange rate, price should be much better.

    • I was grabbing a few, cheapest it's been for me for a little while. Mini are working on a code, hopefully they come to the party.

      • +2

you should've bought it last week for $5 less
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/357925

        • I did, but they are still 3 weeks away from arriving, so got more.

        • +1

          @MorriJ: should've waiting a bit longer ;)
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/359015

        • Competition is good in the free market isnt it! :)

        • @MorriJ: mind if I ask how many more you need? Unless you are fitting out your fleet of cars I’d understand why you want to order quite a few

        • @t25: I personally have 15 vehicles registered in NSW; mix of motorcycles and cars.

That's without looking @ work requirements.

        • @MorriJ: no wonder. At that quantity you couldn’t get a better deal from any of the stores?

Do you have a lot of sports car/weekend car or something?

  • how does this compare to the viofo? I have the viofo but this looks a lot nicer … would I be giving up any major features?

    • Depends on the model but: No GPS, annoying Chinese voice when you turn on/off that you can't disable (though you can lower the volume a little), slightly narrower field of view (I think?). Also I've found it to be very susceptible to glare - the auto white balance goes nuts in the sun and makes number plates impossible to read and the footage very pixely. Oh and there's no screen and only one button to do like 5 things.

      • there's a way you can open up the unit to disconnect the speaker. sorry, i can't find the youtube video.

        • Lol yeah of course you could do that. But it's the principal of the thing, why not give an option to disable it? You can lower the volume, why not all the way?

      • cool thanks… might stick with my 'ugly' viofo for the time being. Not fussed about GPS and language but I want clear pictures should it ever be needed.

    • I’d exchange to viofo.
I personally find it hard to record emergency video manually. Even though I speak fluent Chinese it won’t recognise what I’m saying and it picks up random conversations and turn features on/off as it will.

Some people concern about the battery will pop under Australian sun while Viofo seems to use capacitor.

Also, i would like to remove the dashcam if I park in certain areas. To do so I need to unscrew it.

      • Yeah that's another bugbear I have with the thing - it's a pain to remove either the SD card or the unit itself. I know they want you to use the app to transfer, but it's sooo slow!

  • Been using my one of these for a few months now. Fantastic value.
