Help me pick a PSU

Hello all,

My Corsair AX860 PSU died after about 5 years and I am being credited the full amount under warranty.

I have narrowed down to Corsair HX-850i 850W and the Seasonic SSR-850PX FOCUS Plus 850W

Price is no issue. Which would you recommend.

    I would reward their great warranty and stick with Corsair.

      I'm after a PSU myself and it looks pretty decent. I was considering the Corsair CX650M to save a few dollars and has better warranty.

      The Silverstone does have 100w more, is more efficient and probably made from better parts out of those 2 though.

      My current PSU is a 12 year old Coolermaster 650w Extremepower that doesn't even have an 80 plus rating and <450w on the 12v rail. It's been through a few different builds over that time with overclocked CPU+GPU and pushing close to 400w power draw from the wall with those builds when under load. I'm looking to retire it before it blows up, and the fan is also pretty loud.

    EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2. Any reason you need 850W?

      Replacing my 860W faulty PSU. SLI gaming machine.

      I have the Silent Hybrid from Cooler Master. Its really good and the fan doesn't even spin up unless I run SLI.

    See the PSU tier list http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.h… - both are tier one so I don't think it's going to make a huge difference. I've always bought Seasonic, but the Corsair is cheaper so I'd probably go with that.

    As a point of interest your old Corsair AX860 was a Seasonic PSU
