  • VIC residents only - So tourist is not allowed to redeem?

  • whats a "memobottle" and should i expect to receive my pad thai inside??

    • +1

It's effectively a flat plastic water bottle in A5/A6 size x ~3cm deep. Rather hipster.

Not sure how you would fit the pad thai inside, let alone eat it.

oh ok thx, its a brand…..wasnt seeing the connection with a glorified water bottle and foodcourt food……but i guess MSG makes you thirsty….

Appears to be basically a corporate hip flask

  • Was just looking at buying one of these this morning, also need dinner. Cheers MINKx

These look like hipster water bottles that aren't much useful for anything…Cant believe they can charge more than $10 for a plastic bottle simply by billing it as premium plastic

    • +2

It's the only bottle that will fit in my hipster satchel

  • +1

Actually, it was packaged nicely and the plastic is quite sturdy. Better than I expected…

What size did you get? is it the A5 size as per the promotional photo?

      • Yep

  • So it's a plastic flask.

  • Is this even worth getting?

    • Only if you were already going for food around there?
Last time it was a glass keepcup, and before that a mini gingerbread house.

  • they should just give these to homeless people

    • With free refills

  • 4200yen for an A5 bottle in Japan

  • T&Cs say it's worth $49.95!

  • I picked mine up today, there were signs everywhere in the midtown arcade about this promo. I got it from Sushi Jin, no problems at all, my friend tried to get it from Pad Thai, but they said it has already ran out, or the chick at the register had trouble understanding English.

It's a pretty good promo, a $49.95 gift from spending just $20. it's sad but I can see why they're doing it though, that area is dead with hardly any foot traffic.

    • Don't be sad for Pad Thai. It has been there for years. It gets a good business. It's always full during lunch. I got it from there. No trouble for English since I showed the page to the staff.

      • The owner of Pad Thai also runs FOMO on the corner of Bourke St and Russell and that does well too. There are certain pockets of Midtown Arcade that are quieter than others though. I think the long-running China Bar leaving, took a hit out on the arcade.

      • You are right, Pad Thai still looked busy with a lot of Thai customers, I think their reputation is what keeps them going with returning customers(good thing).

My comment is more about the lack of foot traffic, that place used to be a lot more busier. Did you know behind Pad Thai and the table tennis area, you used to be able to walk straight through to little bourke st. Once that was closed off, that part of the arcade became a ghost town. After 10 yrs, mangers of the midtown arcade are still trying to correct there poor decision to close it off.

I went yesterday, the Thai place has already run out of bottles and didn't have any more.
