  • Anyone know where I can get silicone spray cheaper?

Much cheaper than $2.50/can would land you in jail for theft 👮🏼‍♂️

Yeah unsure if he was joking. Bargain price for most of those sprays. Carby cleaner especially.

Anyone tried the tyre shine? I have used the cheap one from Super Cheap Auto and it works quite well. Hoping this one is as good?

    • Supercheapauto often do 2 cans of silicon tyre shine, blue can, for 5 or 6 bucks. I use it on anything plastic, works well.

  • Damn cheap brake cleaner. Just paid $8 for one tin at sca the other day.

  • Anyone know what the difference is between Silicone Spray & Lithium Grease, from an application perspective? I think Silicone Spray practical use is for things like drawer sliders & zippers, Lithium for machinery lube. They sound like they might have a lot of the same applications.
So does anyone have a more informed opinion than my stab in the dark?

    • Window raising and lowering mechanisms use lithium grease or at least that's the case in a vx commodore. Mind you a service manager advised me not to add any when I had the door trim off to replace the lock actuators

Silicone dries to a slippery film that doesnt attract dust, grit, etc, hence its use on the things you mention, among lots of others.

Lithium grease leaves behind, well, grease. This may give longer lasting and superior lubrication, but potentially messier and “exposed” grease will be somewhat sticky/greasy and attract dust, grit and so on.

  • Will get one can of each except Tyre Shine and Glass Cleaner to make up 8 cans for $20. Never know when will need them in the future.
Do they all have an indefinite shelf life?

    • Do they all have an indefinite shelf life?

      No.

      • I think some branded Lithium Grease claim to have indefinite shelf life. Regardless though, probably no point buying any sprays if you can't find a use for them in the coming years lol

Good luck getting it out when the propellant no longer exists! Should be good for ten years but may be useless after two or twenty.

  • Based on what Autobarn stock, there may be other varieties available
