  • Aldi was meant to have a replica one that has solar power too for only $4.99. But it was recalled lol.

I wouldn't like to risk taking a replica into a uni exam… but that's just me!

    • It looked like a rebadged Casio. It maybe have been recalled because it wasn't a rebadge but a fake.

If you look closely at this pic, you can see it doesn't have the 'empty fraction' symbol, which allows you to write a fractional expression as you would on paper- ie, you can see the whole thing all at once, not some 2km long string. I pity those students who have to use this

Yes. Also it uses the hat symbol for the power button and not a visual representation. Definitely not rebadged.

I am now more convinced that it was recalled because it took liberty with Casio’s design. Probably after a complaint from Casio.

I think Casio’s visual representation is the best of all calculators for school kids.

  • Im still waiting for it to go on sale for $8.90, thanks for posting.

An excellent calculator, approved for use in most school and uni mathematics courses (possibly all). A great price too.

My Fx 100AU still going strong!

    • My casio fx100s is still going strong. I love it. The engineering notation just made my life easier.

I remember destroying my casio fx100c so Mum would buy the new at the time, casio fx100s.

  • FX100 does so much more than the 82 and there are cheaper calculators that do the same.
Unless you're a student who has to use an approved calculator in class or in exams I don't know why you'd want to spend anything on one.
If you just want a basic calculator, there are a thousand phone and computer desktop apps. Many built into your computer. Find one that's reputable and accurate and you won't need a calculator.
A spreadsheet even more. Libre Office Calc is free. MS Excel costs but is the standard.
Specialized math software does even more.
