Australia Post Victim of Theft, What about Me?

My local Australia Post was robbed, and my parcels were one of them.

They were delivered to Parcel Locker, and then transferred as they weren't collected within 48 hours, so I have the tracking numbers.

I understand robbery is beyond their control and I feel sorry for them.
However I am not happy as Aust Post can't compensate me (the receiver) as any compensation is only payable to sender, not receiver.

Sure I can get the senders to contact Aust Post, but considering they are China-based and was shipped without Tracking number, I think it's a slim chance Australia Post will even look into it.

So now, what about me and my lost parcels, what can I do now?

    Wouldn't the LPO have insurance for this?

    If it was a xiaomi product the thief will know he stole from an ozbargainer and may forward on the package to you.

      More than just LPO, it's the delivery centre that was robbed. No, no insurance for receiver.

    This is really an issue between the Chinese Seller and Australia Post/China Post Don't worry about the fact that Auspost got robbed. Tell the seller that you did not receive the product in the end and ask them to replace/refund it. Its up to the seller to contact their courier channels to get their own compensation as it was the seller who organised the postage and not you.

    I've had packages go missing in the past and who knows maybe they got stolen halfway through postage in a checkpoint facility, maybe they got stolen in Australia post - it doesn't really matter; The fact is you paid for a product and you didn't get it.

      Worst case, you can always do a charge back on your credit card. As Sock pointed out, you didn't get what you paid for.

    In your first part of the message you mentioned you have tracking numbers. but then towards the end you said no tracking numbers?

        Correct. All item delivered to Parcel Locker without tracking no will be assigned a domestic tracking number.
