I have a 4iiii single sided Precision power meter that works very well. It was supplied on a Shimano 105 left crank arm and was around $400. You can use any pedals you like. I bought it through Probikekit.
Probikekit has a number of websites and tries to redirect you to the .au version. You need to be on the .com site. You can use a discount code POWER to get a discount at present. In the past ITK10 gave you 10%.
I think mine shipped from the UK. It was a year or so ago. The power meter just works as advertised.
Chris
Yeah, long time ago. They don't even sell them anymore
Still available $404.49 with the POWER discount. You have to use the right site as I mentioned.
ha ha you are right……I didn't read your instructions!!
That's actually a great price for a decent power meter.
I've switched back to Shimano cranks and while not overly light, they feel a lot stiffer.
Are you saying stiffer than the S-works Carbon? Not doubting you…just curious
I also like to pedal through corners, taking ground clearance to the last few mm
Yeah I think about that often when leaning into corners!
FYI you can get the new vector 3 at 20% off with a BUPA membership. Still more than these and still with keo pedals but no pod!!!
I’ve no experience with riding the S-works cranks. I’ve just seen a bunch of the axels or crank arms near the pedals fail. Almost everyone I know has had some drama with them.
I’ve used FSA and SRAM red cranks.
- The FSA were heavy carbon wrapped (bit of carbon over Alloy). A lot of flex and difficult to install. I switched to them in the earlier days of riding because OMG CARBON and tried the Gossamer and Team Issue. This thread has every comment inline with my experience.
- The SRAM Red (early version) were light and very very flexy, until I shredded the teeth off the big chain ring.
I have since gone back to Shimano ultegra and dura ace cranks, night and day in terms of stiffness. Far better feeling of power xfer and shifting under load. They're simply trouble free. I’ve been eyeing off the latest Cannondale CAADs, and the propriety bottom bracket (BB30a) with corresponding crankset has kept me away until I see some reviews of Shimano cranksets with BB30a adapters.
S-works cranks….

Wowsers, I have s-works cranks…
Thanks for the reply. That kind of sux!!
As it happens I have FSA K-Light on my CAAD and its done 14,000 kms faultlessly.
You can also get this delivered for $489.89 from BikeBug on eBay using the code PIKC5. Only 1 in stock.
not any more: "this item is out of stock"
Great price for a power meter! So so cheap. Gone are the days of spending $3k on a PowerTap hub which then needed a head unit ($1k) & wheel built($500-2k).
…..and calibration after every few rides. Not that I ever did, but I did frequently dream about it.
I'd jump but I couldn't do with a single side and Kéo pedals (I love my SPD-SL pedals too much). I also like to pedal through corners, taking ground clearance to the last few mm. I reckon I'd destroy these.
EDIT: Also worth noting that only the Large size is in stock. Compatible with these cranksets only.
Almost worth it to get a new crankset if you're considering these. Me personally, I would never touch an FSA (I've used them before and they are rubbish IMO) or a specialized (many friends have snapped axels, I'd say the fault rate is close to 80%). I've switched back to Shimano cranks and while not overly light, they feel a lot stiffer.
