    Has Sony even given us a code before?

    • +1

      I've noticed them in other countries but not the Australian store

    • They only send code via email, not public, only few players receive

      • It was on my Facebook feed from Sony as a sponsored post

    • I've received one a couple of years ago via email.

  • Off topic, can I buy a dlc from the US PSN and use it with my AU base game?

      sometimes. been burnt with battlefield and fallout 4

      No, the DLC is tied to the same region as the game. The PS4 is region free, as it can play a game from any region, but DLC are tied to the region they're bought from.

      • I think you are referring to digital purchases only

    • You can if the base game is on disc as the discs are region free; any regions from downloaded games and DLC need to match though.

      • I got burnt with a base disc of battlefield 4, legit version imported from Thailand. Expansions bought in US psn wouldn't work. Support confirmed it was because of region differences. This was a couple of years ago though.

        • That’s unlucky. Most discs are region free but there are a few exceptions.

      Short answer: No.

      Long answer: Physical discs are 'region free' (will play in any region console) but are still encoded with their origin region for PSN/DLC purposes. E.g. Buy physical game from US, it will play and work, but if you go in-game (some games have this) to the PS Store for DLC, it will open the AU (if account using is AU) store and try to load the DLC page, but will come back with an error saying there is nothing or something like that, can't remember exactly what it says. This is because of the product ID, for example;
      Star Wars Battlefront II (US) - CUSA-05770
      Star Wars Battlefront II (AU/EU) - CUSA-05749
      That's how it checks if DLC is available/compatible. Same deal for digital as it is physical.
