Nintendo Switch Eshop Sale 30% off Select Digital Games on US Store

110

Right now, you can get up to 30% off select digital games for Nintendo Switch. My Nintendo members also earn Gold Points on qualifying digital purchases, so it's a win-win. Act fast, though, as this sale only runs until 2/1 at 8:59 a.m. PT.

you will need to have to have a separate US profile to purchase titles but seems like some decent deals i would say the stand out is mario + rabbids gold edition it does not show the price on the webpage but on eshop its listed at $55.99 US

Would be great if there is a list of games and their prices after discount.

  • How does one get a separate US profile?

Usually the sales move to the Aus region within a couple of weeks. Hope that's the case here too anyway.

  • Doom for USD$41.99 is tempting..

42 USD in AUD is 51 and change.

I paid 50 at Big W day one for a physical copy. I'd say you'd do better to dig up an old catalogue and try for a price match somewhere.

Also, by the way, Doom on Switch is fantastic. I only wish the bot MP modes could be played offline, portable Quake 3 style deathmatches on the go would be enough for justify buying the thing again alone.

      • can you play online multiplayer?

        • Yeah. I did a few matches and it was quite fun, but I'm not much of an online guy anymore. The bot modes are fan-(profanity)-tastic for me, but alas, they need an internet connection for some reason.

Also, FYI, the cart supposedly contains all the SP content with the MP being a download, but the download is mandatory no matter what so enjoy being 7gb poorer.

In short though, yeah, you can do online on it and it runs perfectly fine on Switch. I never use any chat things and rarely play with IRL friends anyway, but if you want that stuff, the Switch version might not be what you need.

        • @TheDukeOfNukem: cheers for the info.

I'm yet to jump and buy a switch but will likely in the next few days. Travelling heaps for work and feel like it will be perfect.

Really want Zelda too! And Doom!!!

i hope the au store gets some decent sales. tbh i havent seen any reductions on titles i'd consider worthwhile, ie. non-indie games.

    • While I'd also like to see Nintendo discount their first party games, you shouldn't rule out the Indies on Switch.

      • Agree 100%. Picked up Oxenfree yesterday for $6.50. 75% off. Bargain price for a great quality title.

What payment methods are you using to purchase through the US eShop, or are you using giftcards only?

  • Needing a separate account is a dealbreaker for me. Too much hassle. I remember when I moved from the UK to Australia and MS would not let me change the country on my billing address. The only elegant solution was to totally abandon the UK account and start a new Australian one. If I add two countries to my Switch and then move to a third country then I'm sure it'll be money down the drain in the long run.

Changing accounts is a lot simpler on the switch but the problem is adding funds. I don't think you can use Australian credit cards so you'd have to buy US eshop credit.

  • Splatoon 2 is pretty cheap with the Catch deal. $60 + shipping (free with club catch) IIRC

    • Damn. Didn't see this deal. And I'm on ozbargain hourly!

      Thanks man !

      • I didn't bother posting the specific deal. The catch code expires tonight I think

  • so you can have another account on your switch which is US, but play games bought from a different region under any account on the switch?

  • What about ultra street fighter 2 for $35 Aud. It might be the cheapest price ever I think.
