    Bruce Lee is not japanese…

    • +3

      Correct, he's from New Zealand:

From a small suburb in Auckland, New Zealand, Bruce Lee had a vision that one day sushi he would revolutionise the way people ate sushi.

      • Ah not the same one I was thinking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gi8oZpA6hA

        • I guess we'll name our children after famous people. Michael Jackson's Kindergarten.

      • +2

        That's a sentence.

      • Looks like he just knocked off St Pierres in mixing more Western flavor into the sushis. Might be hard to call it revolutionary in NZ since there are over 30 St Pierres in Auckland alone.

    • Same thing

I wonder if there will be trademark infringements…

  • the cringe oh gawd

  • How big is the tray?

  • Y no Miyagi :(

  • +3

    Fish of Fury roll, please

    • enter the salmon, for me too….

  • How often do these types of marketing promos work?

If you going to guve away for free ita fine but hopefully the quality is there otherwise you wont have repeat customers

i found that with some of the free burger deal on it. …. they made them smaller or removes a patty where it should have been 2.

no a great way to get customers to try so they might come back especially when they might assume that the free stuff is the same size as paid menu ……

See… now I see I missed opportunity here.

Instead of going with the obvious connection by spelling the name exactly as the movie star and martial arts legend (and forming a worthy cringe factor from it, let alone potential legal action on copyrights), they should have gone with "Bwuse Ree Sushi". Rolls off the tongue much better, keeps it light, and isn't blatantly trying to rip off the name of a very famous individual.

should have renamed to bruce leigh if there is an issue with name already used for sushi shop …. like in the. levi going to america where the guy has the hamburger joint Mc Dowells using golden arches in red and yellow as mc donald’s are on his back.

      • +4

McDowells has golden arcs, McDonalds has the golden arches. Totally different.

  • +1

Someone needs to open up shop next to him and compete as "Jackie Chan Sushi". Regular slapstick martial arts Fighting should be displayed at the front of the shops

  • Whats next, Goku’s yun cha? Super Mario’s souvlaki? Tom Cruise Meat Pies? Russel Crowe’s peanut butter and jelly?

    Doesnt make sense

  • 1 tray for 100 people!!! would have to be a big tray to feed 100.

  • Hey Bruce, this won't work very well I don't think…. don't follow Aldi's footsteps, a 100 Sushi won't last very long. Many people will be disappointed when they turn up for the freebie!!!

    I am sure you can afford to offer at least 100 sushi every hour to get people queue up ;}

  • The amount of people talking about Bruce Lee not being Japanese.. Please, you think this is any different than your local chinese Sushi shusi or Suji sushi?

    • Over 90% of Japanese restaurants own by Chinese in Australia. LOL!!

      • +3

That's incorrect. More like 25% Chinese, 60% Korean, 10% Japanese and 5% Other.
More Japanese places are Korean than Chinese really.

        • You're close. The 5% was actually own by Indian! That's why you don't use chopsticks for Sushi right!

      • All sushi chains are chinese…

  • +1

Is it just me or does that bruce lee look more like jet li

Edit: we got it all wrong, bruce lee is the owner. He just happens to share the same name as someone we all know lol

  • This place is delicious! It's all about the toppings.

  • just got the tray of sushi at 10.50am. So theres still free ones left. Can only choose from vegetarian or crab roll, its just 5 pieces.
