I've got so many suit jackets in my closet where the pants are worn. The jackets are generally in reasonable condition.
What do people do with their jackets? Donate? Wear it with other outfits?

Try mix and match, or buy some pants that go with the jackets.

But it may not match eg different colour tones, patterns, etc. Although these days I try to buy neutral looking suits
What colour is it?
A range. Navy, charcoal, light grey, check dark grey / black.
Grey suit jacket goes well with black pants, vice-versa.
Light grey can look good with beige/cream pants.
Will give it a try :)
The navy jacket goes well with a blue business shirt and indigo/navy jeans and dark brown or black shoes with a matching belt.
@smuggler: This really would depend on the jacket's style and cut. Reusing a traditional cut and styled jacket with jeans can make for an awful and daggy look. If it's a more modern and slim fit, you could pull it off. Also, navy goes well with sand/camel/beige (or if you're adventurous, maroon/burgundy) coloured chinos.
Slim fit are only good on younger men. Any man over 50 who wears a slim jacket looks like a pedo
@smuggler: A more modern fit doesn't always equate to a slim fit. Something that contours the body and not a box shape is what I'm talking about.
As an aside though, my dad is 56 and could pull off a slim fit jacket. Then again, he's lucky he looks 40.

Where are the pants wearing out? If I’m the crotch have a tailor/alterations place out a piece of satin gusset in the crotch. It will double their lifespan
Put patches on the parts that are too worn?
Suppose you could go back to the same store to buy just the pants so the patterns/tone matches? I also support the above no pants Fridays suggestion.
Guess it's too late for the already "lonely" jackets, but in future, go for the suit sets with two pairs of pants.
The times I'm not going to be wearing a jacket, I always wear individual pants. ie, pants I buy separately for summer, that didn't come with a jacket.
Depending on the pattern/styling of the jacket, you could get away with wearing some as a sportscoat (just don't try with the double-breasted jackets though! haha)
