It is, I just bought a new PC, my first one for 10 years so have some catching up to do! I have heard fantastic things about this game.

  • still the best game ive ever played. after playing this game i dont skip cutscenes and dialogue as i used to. great end-game. Im yet to fire up the expansions from the deal i posted back in november.

    • +1

the expansions are excellent, just as worthy as the main game if not more so.

  • highly recommend the Friendly HUD mod if you want to improve gameplay experience.

  • I recently tried to play Witcher 2 on easy just to get the story but it's so clunky I couldn't finish it - so many potions, traps, bombs, swords, signs…it just seemed unnecessarily complicated.

    Is this much better?

    • +1

yes 3 is a lot more refined, better in every way imo. I didn't get far into 1 as I didn't like the combat, only got a few hours into 2 before moving on but 3 had me hooked.

still has plenty of potions and the complicated things, it took me about 3 hours to get the hang of it. base game took me 9 months to complete, about 100 hours (probably 2-3 hours a week if i was lucky).
An old friend i used to work with would start playing the first 2 hours of a game, before quitting and starting again. gave a really good headstart to the necessary learnings.

    • There's still potions and signs to learn, but they are done in a more user friendly compared to Witcher 2. You don't have to put your head into it immediately. It's the sort of thing that you learn as you play.

    • It takes a while to get used to the menus and stuff like that. Other than that an amazing game
