"tabletop installation"???… as in they unpack it and put it on a table?

    • +3

I bet they leave the box too

    • Maybe plug in the cables as well - pretty special!

      • and if you're a really nice customer, they MAY even put the batteries in the remote

    • yes, this is good for a big tv like this.

    • This item is 41kg and the size of 5' dining table. Having some help setting it up is always good.

  • I checked this TV out in comparison to the 65N7 recently.

I couldn't tell much difference in terms of the picture quality.

The main noticeable difference for me was that this one is really thin compared to 65N7, and it has a "soundbar" across the bottom which should provide better sound.

But they say the sound output is the same as the n7 so no obvious difference other than aesthetics

  • I have this one find it really good. Fast interface and changing between inputs. Turns on fairly quickly. We tossed up between this and the n7. Went with this because it was a newer model and they came close on price for me. And the wife like the stand better on this one.

  • +1

From comments here, seems only difference between N7 is the frame.

Hisense releasing their first OLED TV this year. Will be interested to see pricing on that.

    • It's a different panel.

  • Any reviews for this?

  • I have had my eye on this for a while. I went to JB (who didnt have a display)

They mentioned this was the same TV with a smaller bevel, better speakers and nicer stand - given the response to the N7 though, this could only be better.

However, the reviews don't appear as favorable which I am struggling to understand. I'm really hoping there are some AV nerds in here that can assist me with my purchase as I'm ready to roll!

Its $1808 delivered using "Prawns" on Ebay via Video_Pro.

So about $150 more expensive than the 65N7

    • nice!

      Link?

      • Lazyarse :)

        • +1

haha thanks. I searched and couldnt find any N8s on ebay. Thought it might have been a "we dont deliver to WA" thing.

        • +1

          @TightarseTuesday:

Just excludes WA regional and remote…… and Metro :(
I cheated and typed in 65n8.

        • @TightarseTuesday:

Ah sorry for my lack of linkage :)

Pity it's not $1992 on Videopro eBay like it is on their website. Still cheaper with the 20% off though, and that sounds very tempting….

  • Is it worth buying 4k TV if I only watch free to air?

    • For HD channels you should notice improved picture quality, most 4K TVs have pretty good upscalers so HD looks quite good. But SD does not look flash. Unless you are coming from a top end HD Plasma in which case it may not really be worth it unless you want to watch 4K downloads, netflix etc.

      • i see, thanks!
