Piracy / Intellectual Property and OzBargain

It seems the squeaky wheel gets the oil, with a couple of recent deals being removed due to issues. The first, the free condoms and now the retro arcade device.

My question is, why does OzBargain then allow Star Wars items that are clearly infringing on the intellectual property of Lucasfilm / Disney? I've seen the keyrings and bottle openers, and it's clear they're cheaply made and not official items.

So, OzBargain, perhaps a little more self-regulation is in order, instead of relying on users to click the report button?

Because it's still a bargain and I think Disney is doing just fine with their own merchandising efforts?

I think Disney is doing just fine with their own merchandising efforts?

I don't think "<Insert Company losing revenue> is still doing well" is a valid excuse for piracy, though having said less I generally don't arc up over IP breaches.

  • Nah, they're going ok.

Less competition for our scarce bargains and freebies.

    • "Maybe the mods are against condoms?"

      Catholics?

    • Not as against as the stop aids African publication that stapled the condoms to the cover like 8 or so years ago lol.

Ultimate OzBargain hack, buy a 3D printer, print a 3D printer, return the original 3D printer.

The only video I've ever downloaded is this one - it's Bryan Brown's best work…
