Shoot me a PM of u wanna work something out ;)

      • +6

Have you ever played Touch My Lebanese Cucumber?

      • +7

I'd love to shoot our PM - especially if he turns out to be a kiwi ;)

        • +6

you are now on a list

        • +2

          @kehuehue:

Luckily it's a really long list.

  • Is there a time where beat the average is lowest? Do people who get the notification generally buy in at a dollar? Do the $1 people generally flow in later form word-of-mouth? Who has a strategy for beating BTA?

    • +10

I generally think the average trends upward over time.

    • +3

      Buy early

    • +3

I've gone to look as soon as I have the email once or twice and its always around the $5 mark. Never once seen the average under $5. But I only got the email 3 hrs ago and they already have 20k sales so the average probably goes up super quick at first.

      • +2

If the first one buys at $12 the average is $12, damn averages!

        • And the only way for the average to work itself down is if people pay less than the average - and if you do that you're getting the $1 bundle or you've just got more money than sense

Massive + just for Pillars of Eternity!

    • +2

I bought it just for that, been waiting awhile! I don't think I'll play any of the rest, but for $8AUD I'm happy ;)

    • I really want to get it for PoE because I've been waiting for it since release… but apparently this is just for the base game. Doesn't it have like a few DLC/expansions already?

      • +1

Yeah it does but still well worth it.

  • +4

If only I had the next 12 months with no commitments to play these.

  • +3

Stellaris and Pillars of Eternity great games for old school gamers.

  • +2

    Love casual game bundles

  • Want to pay average for PoE, but Stellaris sounds interesting.

    • +1

Stellaris is a great game, if you like 4x style games you'll love it.

I've got over 300 hours on steam on it now, and its still as fun as the day i bought it.

      • Thanks! Might give it a go then!

  • I love Majesty, got it on GoG but the buttons are so miniscule it is impossible to click anything

  • +2

I've previously played Victoria 2 with and without the two major DLCs and it was like totally different experience with base+DLCs much more polished and enjoyable. Now I'd rather buy Paradox games in its complete package than the base game alone, even if it means I have to wait for a few years. I have a huge backlog in Steam and GOG anyway and 5-year lag is perfectly fine for me.

So, after almost a decade of impulse buying Humble Bundles, I've finally built pimped out Windows rig which can actually play them! The only problem now is that with over 200 games in my Steam library, you could say I'm a little overwhelmed with the back catalogue of never before installed - let alone played titles.
Each time I even consider launching a new one, I find myself scurrying back to the familiarity of Overwatch, relieved that I haven't yet started the guilt based, self imposed goal of at least checking out where I've sunk probably a couple of hundred dollars over the years.

    Perhaps I should stop while I'm behind…

    • +6

      Or…Keep increasing your collection. ;)

    • +2

Yeah. Even worse are the games I've started multiple times but never finished. Amnesia: the Dark Descent, for example. Indie classic maybe, but goddamn the thing is slow-paced to begin with. Its like reading Charles Dickens, you more or less have to grind through those first two hundred pages before you start enjoying the story.

I preferred Humble Bundles back when they showcased overlooked indie games. Now it sort of resembles the bargain bin at your local EB. Basically mainstream games that have gone slightly off the boil.

I hate it especially when you invest precious time in a game and it goes unrewarded. Splosion Man, for example. I finished that and it was completely meh from start to finish. How it garnered so much praise is beyond me.

      • I remember playing one of the Amnesia games from an early bundle on a friends PC back in… 2010? It was mostly us forcing each other to take turns while we ran, hid and were inevitably killed by some kind of monster. Good times! Probably wouldn't try to finish it after your review though.

  • If I am a humble monthly member do i get any discounts for this package? Or can i use some credits etc? Sorry, just recently became a monthly member and not sure if i get any perks.

    • +1

No you only get 10% off in the Humble Store, not Humble Bundle

      • bugger, thats a shame. Is the stellaris just the basic one without any of the DLCs / Expansions? As I presume if thats the case then i might as well wait for when it comes in a pack with all the expansions?

        • Expansions / DLC make it much better. Three regularly go on sale, the newer ones not so much. With just those three, the game is improved dramatically as it adds later game objectives.

Reminder for everyone getting the previous Humble Monthly deal for Civ 6 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/353926 to cancel your membership (if you are only getting it for Civ 6)

    • what do you mean? So if i put my humble monthly on suspend then i dont get this months monthly pack right? Or can i get civ 6 and not the others?

      • -1

you only get civ 6, it warns you when you try to cancel the sub. Just cancel it 1 day before your sub renews - set a reminder on your phone.

      • +2

It doesn't matter when you cancel your subscription, you will get to keep Civ IV and the rest of the games as you have already paid for it. You just won't get next month's bundle of games.

  • Thats pretty a pretty amazing $12 bundle, with PoE and Stellaris

  • Does this version of Stellaris include any DLCs, or is it just the base game?

    • it'll be just the base game, but there isn't that much DLC to buy, and definitely it isn't required to play the game.

With that said, it adds really cool stuff, play the base game for a while, if you don't feel like you need the DLC and the dev has earnt the money, don't buy it.

For me it was a no brainer, such a great game.

  • BTA gone up to $7.21.

  • No HoI 4 :(

  • +1

If I didn't already have all the games, I'd be buying this bundle. That's excellent value for money with Crusader Kings II and Pillars of Eternity together for less than $10.

  • +1

Crusader Kings II is (profanity) awesome. Seriously grab it. Yes, it had a crap tonne of DLC but you don't need them all.

    • +1

Yep agree. Such a fun game, some really crazy fun things you can do in CKII

  • If I buy the BTA first, can i later pay extra / the difference to add the full bundle? Or is that feature no longer there?

    • In the bundle I saw that you couldn't do that on, there was a little disclaimer that said it wasn't possible. I can't find that disclaimer on this page, but it was very small and very easy to miss last time, so that's not to say it isn't there…

  • Just bought the bundle and am a few hours in on Stellaris. Really digging it so far, the only 4X game I've played before this was Sins of Solar Empire.

Question is: Do I buy the DLC now, or will can we expect a better deal? DLC pack currently 10% off on Steam.
