I want to buy a tablet for just watch youtube. Don't know how to choose. iPad? Android? Any suggestion?

I have what would be a mid range Samsung 9.7 inch Tab and it's fine for general stuff like watching videos and can be had pretty cheap.
Just get an iPad 2017 when it goes on special here for $360.

This is the correct answer. In terms of tablets, iPads are where its at. Android tablets are awful. I got a iPad Air (32 GB) for around $380 a couple of years ago and it's working fantastically well.
It's the only Apple product I own (I use Android for phones) but it's an excellent product. The App store has everything you need and if you just want a device to consume media then it's ideal.
I agree Apple is good but I'd argue that not all android tablets are awful. Plus if you want a device for media, an upgrade-able Android with a massive SD card would be a better choice - plus you don't have to deal with iTunes.
As an Android long time user I am still envious of Apple users.
More access to more content and usually earlier.
But for similar performance it is a bit pricier ON Apple's end and I would have gone Apple but 2gb of ram scares me but there is currently no real competition for the iPad pro series if you go that route none I have checked.
The air 2 is pretty impressive too albeit very expensive compared to Windows and android equivalents.
If you go Android get Huawei Mediapad M3 or Samsung galaxy tab S2.
They are both lighter than the iPad 2017 for sure.

It was about 64 USD or 80 AUD cheaper about a month ago before Christmas at a high right now not sure when it might be discounted next.
Gumtree for Samsung galaxy tab S2 as I haven't seen a deak for it on here for quite some time but tbh only buy it if you can get it for less than $250 AUD.
Apple no idea but I guess check www.staticice.com.au and Ozbargain.
If I were you though I would wait for their iteration or generation of tablets and try find one with even more ram than 4.. They are coming just don't know when. Ram is so important atm for multi tasking and having large apps all on at once in background.
My tablet sometimes struggles but I push it to the limit as I have always done.

From TGG website there are many samsung tablets. But from the name can't tell the difference. Similar name but price are quite different.
