This is DDR3L memory by the way. It will not be usable for newer and high end laptops that are using DDR4 memory. See Static Ice for a price comparison

    • thanks, I didn't know I could use any ddr3l 1.35v sodimm. I had to check the website for compatibility, that particular model came up on kingston website, when I checked crucial, it says only 4gb ram compatible, checked corsair, I think my laptop model was not even listed. Anyway, this is my first time upgrading laptop ram. Overlooked I could not use ddr3 on ddr4 machine but hopefully my newly upgraded laptop will last me for another few years. BTW upgraded my hdd to ssd last thursday from msy, they just reduced price by $6 yesterday :(, do you think they will refund me the difference?

MSY refunding price differences is almost unheard of :( unfortunately when it comes to computer parts, computer shops make very little money (thin margins and there are lots of competition online) and prices tend to be volatile because of trends in technology (e.g bitcoin mining, shortage of DRAM and flash memory) means that most PC shops won't usually budge on prices.

  • I bought a new Kingston 8GB two years ago for $55 ish posted here. Still in my drawer.

wow very cheap, although it is a 1.5v one, DDR3, the one I got is 1.35v DDR3L
Would be interested if anyone got a 1.35v one at a very low price.
