AutoCAD Laptop Under $1000

Hi, hope you ya'll are doing good.
My brother is entering university this year, his doing a civil engineering course at UTS. And thus he needs a laptop capable of running AutoCad for his course. We don't have that much money to spend something under $1000. It needs to be light and easy to carry around, however if required, something a bit heavier will suffice. I'm not an expert on the requirements of AutoCad and not sure if a dedicated GPU is required, if anyone has used the software please help a brother out šŸ‘

  • surely they can use the uni computers? or if the kids need have some kind of software arrangement. i think you can get away without having a dedicated GPU but i'm not sure.

I was thinking a Lenovo E470, an Ozbargain favourite. They are always on sale for less than $1000 for pretty good specs. Have a look at it.

  • Can't pm you buddy

2D Autocad stuff works fine on ultrabooks, I use it all the time for work.

    Inventor needs more horsepower though.

One of the Lenovo's regularly posted here would go alright as suggested. This would go hard (quad core + discrete graphics) for a little above your budget https://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/deals/deals-for-home/student-dā€¦
