It certainly sent a chill up my spine.
Spend a bit more and get techni ice. Used the willow on my last Syd - Mel drive as it fits well between the seats but the ice packs had melted by the time we stopped for lunch mid way.
I suspect the main reason for this is the lack of… scratch that, absence of insulation in the lid. Bewilders me why manufacturers think this is OK. My current eskys both have expanding foam in the lids, by way of a pressure can from Bunnings. Makes a huge difference!
Picked one up on Wednesday morning for my work vehicle. The size it just right to fit a half carton and a bag of ice.

I bought one from IGA (same price) for this very reason. Haven’t drilled into the lid yet (gotta borrow a holesaw from the in-laws) but hoping to give it a crack next weekend.
Like the poster above, I have this cooler as well which I use with my anova (I've yet to put a hole in the lid). I generally replace the water after each run and find that it needs alot of water as the cooler is quite deep. It may be a problem if you are cooking a small amount of food but for 20 bucks its cheaper than a cambro container + lid
