3g/4g Security Camera - Recommendation

Hi All

I am looking for a battery powered security camera that sends images or video via 3g/4g when motion is detected. I bought an HC-700g hunting camera with a solar panel, but I was never able to make it actually send the pictures or videos it captures. I see there are many alternatives, but I don't know which are best.

I also considered getting a WiFi security camera, a wireless hotspot, a battery and a solar panel, but that seems awkward.

Ideally it would require no/minimal interactions after setup and be able to send a notification to a handful of people when there is motion detected. There is no electricity so solar would be nice.

Thanks

WiFi security camera, a wireless hotspot, a battery and a solar panel

The hotspot and the battery have to be ip rated or installed under cover.

    • Thanks
I don't really like my diy project, but it could be fun. Maybe, I could put the bits into a hard plastic container if it comes to that.

Why not install the Alfred App with your old phone and solar powerbank?
It works for me when i was on holiday. it push to my phone with any motion detected.

    • It's a good idea, but I wouldn't trust my old phone outdoors. And I know I actually want to see somethings and my old phones camera is terrible at a distance.

  • You might want to check those wireless cams with motion sensor. They send you a notification as soon as it picks up motion. All sorts of motions though, including the ones from pets. Ours used to pick up motion from our dog and I get a notif about it like 5x a day. But overall, the surveillance and resolution is good.

    • I looked through, but I couldn't see that any of these offer 3g or 4g service.

Not sure if you have solved your issue, but you might want to chekc out Reolink Go 4G LTE cam. https://reolink.com/product/reolink-go/

    • Thanks this is exactly what I am looking for. I will look into Indiegogo a little and the postage to Australia.

    Or consider the Arlo Go

    https://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/mobile-broadband/arlo-g…

I am considering ordering through Telstra (using pooled Telstra data) but undecided at this point.

I just wish the camera had wifi as well as 4G
