Laptop Recommendation - Budget $1500

Hey everyone,

How are you?

I have seen some other threads on here with people giving advice about the best laptops available.

My situation:

Budget: $1500

Usage: Web browsing, Microsoft office, some PLC software. Nothing too intensive.

Desirable: Windows OS. SSD 256gb min, 8th gen chip so it won't need to be updated for a while. Good battery life. 13 inch screen. Lighter the better. Preferably new.

The Dell XPS 13 that is currently on sale for $1439 on eBay looks good.

Just checking if people had any more recommendations.

    Sounds like a good deal. I have a HP Spectre bought for $1500 on an OzBargain deal a few months ago and could not be happier. Was comparing to the XPS which has similar specs so you should have a similar great experience.

    I think at the time, the Dell had a problem with the audio that worried me - I think it was the chip they were using - you can Google it to see if it is resolved.

    With your budget, new and local warranty would be the way I would go due to previous issues - it is good to have a warranty if you need it.

    Thanks for the reply. That sounds great. I didn't even think of the HP Spectre. I will look into it and see if there is any good deals.

    Yeah with phones I am willing to risk it with grey imports but I think new and local warranty is important for me.

    I will Google that audio issue.
