Best phone for Star Wars Jedi Challenges

Hi Everyone.

Santa got my 7yo Son a Star Wars Jedi Challenges headset for Christmas.
I was planning to utilise my Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) for the headset but for the life of me I cannot get it to pair with the light saber. It is the same thing with my Wifes same phone too.

The thing is though i tried with my backup phone a Moto G4 Play and it pairs and works ok but the phone really struggles with the demands and gets super hot and glitchy.

I know none of these phones are on the compatibility list but they say any modern powerful phone should work.

Can anyone recommend a good phone for the best price that has a powerful processor, big battery, oled screen that should work ok? It does not need things like nfc or led indicator, etc. Band 28 would be nice but not a deal breaker.

    Hi. Yeah I know but I am trying to find a cheaper alternative that should work (they say most modern powerful phones should work) My older weaker Moto G4 Play works although hot and glitchy. I am looking for a cheaper powerful alternative that should work without the flagship pricing.
