Buying Cryptocurrency Using (Visa) Debit Card

I currently use BTC Markets to purchase cryptocurrency and one of the reasons is because they accept BPAY. But when the price fluctuates a lot like what is currently happening I wish I can use (Visa) debit card to buy cryptocurrency. Anyone knows where I can do that?

Note that I deliberately say debit card because I thought there might be some cash advances charge if we use credit card while with debit card the money is actually readily available.

I know there are some P2P exchanges that let us to do that (even with Paypal and gift cards) but I would rather to deal with centralised exchange if possible.

Any comment/feedbacks will be appreciated. thanks.

  • Just keep x dollars in your Bec account and pounce when the time is right

    • do you meant BTCMarkets account? That's something that I am not too comfortable doing because we all know that all exchanges have risk to be hacked.

      • That’s the risk you take, and only option afaik.

        Why not just poli pay

        • They don't do POLI I believe.

        • I'm glad everyone's moving away from POLi.
It gives me shivers to give my internet banking username/pw to a script coded by a 3rd party company to log in to my internet banking and initiate a transfer. It clearly violates the T&Cs of most major banks and there's no protection what so ever if the said script steals your money.

      • Isn't BTCmarkets AUD held in escrow?

Worried about security of money yet buying made up currency?

        Interesting…

  • Coinjar does poli, acx.io might be worth a look, I've been hearing a bit about coinspot lately too.

    • Thanks … I'll check that out.

Coinbase will let you use a visa for it. They are a US site and charge a premium for the service but it usually works out even with BTCmarkets price.

Buying limits usually start quite low at around $250 per week, but make a couple of buys and it'll go up.

    • Thanks … will look at it.

  • A lot of them allow you to deposit at a newsagent and it's instant.

    • That's interesting … wondering if BTC Markets does that.

  • Coinbase does.

  • I'm currently starting a service to do just that. You can sign up to the waitlist at kwicto.com, intending to launch mid feb or so! :D

  • Which exchange is regarded as the most stable / safe?

  • Just signed up with coinbase … pending verification

  • I use IQOPTION.COM but it only lists 14 cryptos. (Along with Forex, Options etc).
My first and lowest buy in was USD$45.00 to test the waters, they charged USD$4.50 commission. I used MCard Debit to buy Ripple with and when you withdraw they will only payback via the card you purchased with. Transaction times are slow, around 3 hours to buy and 2-3 days to get the money back into your bank account when you withdraw.

  • Just want to give some updates guys … I have made my purchase and withdrawal on Coinbase and so far so good.
