GTX 1060 for A Reasonable Price?

I am looking for a GTX 1060 for my PC build, but not sure which one I should get. It seems the prices have increased by alot recently.
I would like to get the 6gb variant, but will consider getting the 3gb variant (if it's a good price).

Thanks.

I am looking for a new one, due to warranty.
This one is no good, as it is used.

I don't really trust used pc parts, as they could be faulty.

2 months old with receipt. Very little risk in my opinion but I acknowledge your justification.

      • Gigabyte offers a 2 year warranty on their video cards so there's a good chance it has more than a year left on the warranty depending on when/where it was bought (Gigabyte don't have international warranty).

Looking at staticice.com.au, there's not much luck finding a 3GB 1060 for less than $340 delivered or a 6GB one for less than $400, and even then there's a good chance those stores are out of stock as right now is possibly the worst time to buy a GPU due to price fixing supply shortages.

Just searched the ebay 20% off listing:

EVGA GeForce GTX1060 Graphics Card 3GB

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX1060-Graphics-Ca…

      $303.69 shipped after discount

EVGA GeForce GTX1060 Graphics Card 6GB

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX1060-Graphics-Ca…

      $368.62 shipped after discount

Shipping from NZ so make take a few more days

Warranty also from NZ, Gigabyte sadly don't have a global warranty.

That said - OP should still be jumping on it as it's the cheapest option by far and he wants a new card.

          EVGA have global warranty

        • @daiwai:

That they do! Sorry brain freeze, thought it was Gigabyte not EVGA.

OP - get the 6GB one listed above. It's the cheapest new 1060 6GB by a fair margin even if the price increases from the last month aren't taken into consideration.

        • @c0balt: I bought a Gigabyte 1050ti from the same seller, which they are also claiming has 3 years warranty?

        • @djkelly69:

I bought a Gigabyte 1080 from them 2 days ago during the 20% off sale, so I'm in the same boat.

Gigabyte do have a 3 year warranty (not 2 as I mentioned in an earlier post, that's for their laptops but GPUs have 3 years), but will need to be shipped back to FutureGear if there is a problem as Gigabyte do no offer an international warranty.

This is what I've read through forum posts on various sites, that only EVGA offer international warranty.

I'd be very happy if someone could find something saying otherwise as it would give me piece of mind about my 1080 purchase if it was to break.

  • I'll sell you one cheap. Got a few 3GB Gigabyte Dual-Fan versions available for $200 and a couple of 6GB ASUS STRIX for $300.
Only been mining for about 2 and 7 months respectively

You do know that mining doesn't really affect the cards, right?

Just open them up. Get rid of all the dust. Check for any burnt parts. Alcohol wipe it clean. Apply new thermal paste. Reassemble it back. Will work to 99% (+/- 3%) of its original performance.
It's a digital product, it either works or doesn't…. it doesn't degrade miniscule-ly over time like a mechanical/analog device.
      Eg/ HDMI vs RCA cable.

If there's any part that's going to "degrade"/malfunction, it will be the fan blades or fan rotor.

      • Yeah I know. I wouldn't be selling them if I thought the buyer would have problems with them.

Go with the EVGA 6GB linked above. I ordered the non SC version which was abit cheaper and since sold out. But yeah thats the best value 1060 6GB you'll find atm until prices start to fall.

  • Thanks for all the replies!
I ended up buying the EVGA GTX 1060 SC 6gb variant from eBay for $368.62.
    Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

i was thinking about picking up a 1060 soon as well. does anyone know if prices are expected to fall anytime soon? are there new models or anything on the horizon that might help push prices down?
