I kinda wanna buy one, so I am glad and that it's $749.00 and I am not going to spend that much on another BBQ

Just need to find a butcher selling porgs now…

    • +1

Hunt them down and kill every last one of them.

In that scene in The Last Jedi, I think Chewie should have picked up that sad faced Porg, ripped its head off, squeezed, and then dunked the roast Porg in the juices.

      But that's just me…

      • He's going vegan

the last jedi ruined the whole series … no buy!

If that's on special, what was it before???

    • $799 must have been the RRP.

  • +1

Love Star Wars, but think I'll stick with my Weber.

Should be able to take this to Bunnings and they price beat by 10%, according to their lowest price policy?

      • fyi they will add delivery if you price match.

$449 + delivery from Catch. And Bunnings wants $749?.

    • good catch

Good for cooking chewie meats and ham solo.

Looks like it should be worth $250 at most.

    • You couldn't even buy non-themed bug bbq for that much. Legitimately look at how much effort and detail has gone into it, and assume it is as good as the gasmate bbq it's based off.

  • If they had partnered with weber instead I would be tempted.

  • roast Gamorreans. yum

  • This is something that looks (probably is also) very, very cool; but $749 is just trading on the fact that it’s Star Wars and considering that it’s $449 at Catch shows that this is a bit of a rip-off :-/ Seeing though, that Bunnings often has reasonable prices depending on the products, this is also a bit surprising.

    • To be more precise it's $488.95 delivered from Catch (same $39.95 delivery fee nation wide apart from Darwin, they won't deliver it there for some reason). Still $488.95 is a heck of a lot less than the ridiculously inflated $749 price which Bunnings has it at.

And it's made by Gasmate. This is their official web page for this BBQ.

      • Thanks for the info. Does the delivery fee seem too steep or is that reasonable?

It’s funny isn’t it, if you don’t have another price to compare with it’s hard to know if prices are actually that terrible, that’s the problem.

When are we going to see those decent prices at Amazon like they’ve got in the states?

        • +1

Seemed reasonable for some thing heavy like a BBQ.

    • +1

I've seen what they buy a lot of their stock at. There mark ups are ridiculous, but that's what happens when you have a semi monopoly in the area of the market they deal in

      • +1

Yep. Absolutely. As much as I love Bunnings, returns policy is second to none IME, the prices have steadily increased; yeah sure over time but I’ve watched the prices creep and it sucks.

        We need another major competitor.

  • $449.99 at Home Style Outlet. No bargain here from Bunnings.

    https://homestyleoutlet.com.au/products/star-wars-bbq

So yeah those in Melbourne could probably go straight to Homestyle Outlet (apparently right next to South Melbourne Markets) and buy it for the $449.99 right now. Otherwise through the online store there may be a delivery fee.

  • Standard price

    • +2

      You mean inflated price.

  • Not a bargain, if anything its a rip off

  • No way this is a bargain.

  • But the big question is… does it cook better than a light sabre?
Empirical data required (and that part of the planet was blown away), waiting to see the rebellion over this post.
