Not sure if pricing error, or maybe I searched for the wrong item. Seems cheap.

Mark? Jeremy?
You're better off buying this one from DJI once it's in stock for $169aud https://m.dji.com/product/tello
Nah.. It's the right price. This drone is over a year old and shadowed by the launch of DJI Spark since. It's actually more capable than the Spark at the Selfies and follow-me/gesture modes though. But yeah, when you have a choice between DJI and a Zerotech - almost no competition. But it's a good price though (less than half the price of a Spark on special).
Just missed the opportunity. DJI apparently have an announcement on the 23rd which will be an upgrade to their DJI Spark, and even have folding legs like the Dobby.
Very strange how DJI hasnt made a major update to the phantoms or mavics for over a year, and changing the colour of plastic shells doesnt count.
New DJI drone announcement 27th jan
DJI licensed their flight tech to make this drone at CES 2018 https://m.dji.com/product/tello
Mavic air.
Announcement soon ..@Vietsoldier: Urgh.. Fixed Camera..
The only Fixed camera option I'd take on a drone is the ability to fix my own Samsung Gear 360 onto it. Otherwise no thanks.
Just keep in mind, whilst only small, because it weighs more than 100g, it will face all the same restrictions (legally) that are imposed upon larger drones such as the Mavic. This pretty much makes it illegal (for example) to fly in most of Sydney, even in your backyard.
That’s a pretty little drone, how enforced are these no fly zones?
Not sure, but fines are up to $9k

would these be faulty refurbished items?
Can this be deployed to automatically follow subjects and intelligently take photos/videos with minimal operating skill and flying training?
Yes it does. It is a selfie drone moreso than a Spark (which is general purpose but has some selfie / gesture modes built in).
You can set it into the air and get it follow you. You can gesture or voice command (not sure how good that is) to take videos and pictures. It is meant for close range stuff since it is limited on signal. Main complaint is that this doesn't have stabilisation so the videos do come out shakey
Couldn't resist so bought, further reduced cost using some GearBest points I had accumulated. Wanted to buy the spare batteries currently also discounted https://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopter-parts/pp_1509707.html but when I try to check out, I get a message that they won't ship them :-( Can anybody suggest how to get these normally expensive spare batteries?
Sorry to answer your question with another question - but how many batteries does it come with?
Appears to be one according to the GearBest product description.
The battery lasts for about 5-10 minutes from the reviews I've read.
The price also says $220.59 when I clicked on the link?
Think it depends on the location settings and whether you've set it to AUD or USD. Mine must be set to default USD and I just googled the exchange rate. Prone to change..
