Looked into these a while ago. Although probably OK for indoors it seems they're prone to rapid decay when exposed to the elements. Either way it's always best to have a mechanical manual override for 'worst case' scenarios which these are lacking. Great concept just not well executed. On top of that they can be shimmed within seconds anyway so best not put too much faith in them: https://youtu.be/EdiHPYQQxyQ
You have to much faith in mechanical ones too. Padlocks only keep honest people out.
Ha, believe me I don't have much faith in anything :) If someone wants to gain entry to or take something that isn't theirs then there will always be a way. Each to their own and each situation is different. This is why I have cameras covering the things I value the most… mainly so I can at least have a record of them doing it :) Now, where's that tin-foil hat… oh that's right, someone stole it :(
My cameras are expensive, so I have cameras watching them as well. Security is becoming very costly for me.
