I don't know much about TV's these days, as per the title, what's the best bang for buck in my price range? Needs to be 55". No more than $1700.
Best 55" TV for $1500-1700

That's Kogan, aldi , soniq, tcl territory. Don't expect HDR.
55 inch for 1500 dollars you are paying too much
Can't go wrong with Hisense if you're looking at bang for buck. I believe the 55" N7 is around $1200 atm, but with your budget I'd probably go bigger (space permitting).

I've got the Hisense 55N7. Couldn't recommend it enough. Great for sport and gaming. I'm looking at getting another for the kids room. If you can hold off I've seen them go around $950 in mid-December. I was planning to get a Samsung originally but they sold out and I was spending $500 less than what I was going to on the Samsung so I was abit skeptical choosing a Hisense. If you want to spend $1500 go the LG OLED 55" going for just under $1700 recently.
LG OLED 55!
How much?? I thoguht these are 2k?
Got mine for 1600ish during boxing day
Prolly haggle the Hisense N7 from $1198 down to a smidge over $1000.
$1500-1700
that's 65" to 70" range.
Even for the quality panels?
I'm on the lookout for a 55" smart TV too, preferably under $650. :)
