Pillows for Christmas pressie?

Hi, a pillow(s) for someone for Christmas is an idea - I'm seeking advice of any good ones you've seen/bought or any great deals which might pop up (since some come up regularly).

The idea is a big (huge?) one for getting more comfy on a lounge (and maybe if the person wants a snpooze on the lounge).

Failing that, just some quality large latex or similar pillows for a bed.

I'm aware there are some discounts at HS (http://catalogues.harrisscarfe.com.au/portal/)
but where else? HN or Myer one day promotions?
I'd prefer to try rather than just order the wrong thing online.

Thanks for any tips!

  • How much do you want to spend?? Because to get a descent Latex pillow you will have to look at spending $50 up to as much as $200…

Look at the Talalay latex pillows. Far better quality then the cheaper latex… (long story to explain how latex is produced but just know there is rubbish and there is really good quality)

AS for brands, AH Beard is good starter, they have talalay latex pillows for about $99 (less discount if you can get them down) Sold at HN and Forty Winks… Otherwise Simmons/Sleepmaker sell them too from most bedding retail stores…

dunno about the person you're giving them to, but i'm quite picky over my bedroom pillows. They need to be the right height, firmness, shape, etc. I don't think someone else could buy them for me.

If you're getting a huge one for the lounge, better make sure it's something they'd like!

  • Good point, eug.

  • If you are getting a huge pillow for the lounge it will be an unusual size. Don't forget to get at least two pillowcases to fit it as part of your gift.

  • Pillows are hard to get for someone (as per eug's comments). I just go to myer when they have a sale.

latex > goose feather > duck feather > foam

    i think thats the order??

Regarding feather pillows the ratio of "down" to "feather" is much more important than duck vs goose.
The more "down" (the soft fluffy bits) compared to "feather" (the stalky bits) the better.

Late reply but I found my latex too odd. Like too springy/bouncy and can’t tell if I need to firmer or higher. Got the classic medium from Dunlopillo.
