I'm currently wanting to purchase this bag which has a sleeve that suits a 13" laptop, however using a measuring system from Rushfaster.com.au, they seem to claim that my 14" laptop does fit it. I cannot make the decision as to purchase it because I am purchasing at a different store which will not allow returns on sale items.

Looks more like a pocket than a sleeve. If Rushfaster says so I reckon it will be fine.
Also the 14" X1 Yoga is only 2mm wider than a 13" MacBook Air, so with a pocket like that it shouldnt be a problem at all.

Can't you try taking your laptop to a shop that has the bag and see if it fits or meets your needs?
It also might be the case of yeah you can squeeze it in but it pulls the bag tight rendering the rest of it useless.
The backpack i have i can fit a larger laptop in but at the sacrifice of any protection or padding that pocket for the laptop has.
