METAS Athletic Inertia Jacket, Now $38 (Was $145) – $6.95 Flat Rate Shipping from Metas Athletic

142

Hello OzBargain Crew,

The METAS closing down sale has been exceptionally popular, with many lines/sizes selling out, but for whatever reason, this one item has been mostly overlooked. It's crazy as this jacket is really, really nice!

So, we've gone ahead and further reduced this women's Inertia Jacket to just $38 (from the $145 it was selling for just a couple months ago).

This jacket features our highest quality technical fabrics direct from Italy. With its mesh panelling and built-in ventilation, this figure-flattering jacket will keep you cool and comfortable as your workout heats up.

As with most items in the METAS range, this jacket is very form fitting and if there is any doubt, go a size up.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept refunds or returns, so please check the size chart and make sure you get the right one before you click that checkout button.

In addition, we've done a stocktake and some other items which were out of stock are now back on our website in very limited quantities (<10). If there was something you were looking for and found it out of stock, please have a look on the site as you might be pleasantly surprised. Though, what you see is all that's left and once it's gone it will be gone for good.

Thank you for your business, constructive feedback and positive reviews.

While this may be the end of METAS, we look forward to putting all of our focus back on True Protein and our goal of providing the best quality sports supplements on the market.

Cheers,
Beau

The grey mens hoodie M is back in stock!
Already bought the black one though, otherwise would've definitely got the grey one.

I've enjoyed wearing the shorts. The zipper pockets are quite nice - makes sure nothing will fall out when exercising.
The tops are quite comfortable too, but not too suitable for exercising in hot weather since the shirt seems to absorb sweat and it will get quite heavy.

The pullover is very form fitting and comfortable too. Will enjoy it more when the weather cools down.

I also like the tights. It has a zip pocket which is nice and haven't had any problems with it so far.

  • Ozbargain beware. I don't normally write negative reviews, but my experience has not been positive with this seller or their product. Perhaps the reason they're going out of business

I've already tried to contact the seller to express my discontent, with not so much as a courtesy response

Ordered three shirts on the last posting. I'm normally on the smaller side of a size Large for shirts. Currently a Medium for anything UnderArmor. Their size L shirts I received were smaller than any Mediums I own, and fabric quality was sub-par for activewear.

    • Hello,

I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't receive a response. While we don't have the flexibility to offer refunds or exchanges at this time, we certainly would not deliberately ignore any message.

Do you mind sending me a PM so I can see what happened?

Thanks for your business and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

      Cheers,
      Beau

That doesn't sound like you are living up to ACL at all.

        • +5

Selection of wrong size is not considered a product defect, hence ACL doesn’t apply. OTOH, if received product didn’t match advertised dimensions then ACL does apply.

        • +1

          @AlexF:

Also, to be clear, in all situations where the wrong size was sent, or there was a defect in the item itself, we have provided an immediate replacement or refund.

        • -3

          @AlexF:

So the sizing is roughly 1cm smaller for a Large than what you might find at Target if you compare the sizes provided on their website

          https://www.metasathletic.com.au/lime-on-black-axium-t-shirt…

          https://www.target.com.au/help/size-charts

I find Target's Large to fit relatively well — a bit tighter across chest and shoulders, then draping down. My chest is 108 but my waist is 86-92. These shirts are quite a bit tighter across my upper torso than I'm used to, and skin tight all the way down to my pelvis

Haven't checked the measurements of the shirts themselves. Perhaps later. For ~ $10 a shirt it was more of a frustration

          I'll shoot @trueprotien a PM to discuss

@Calcifer: although i do agree with the sizing thing Calcifer, i also strongly beleive that its luck of the draw with online purchasing. Sizing is a pretty subjective thing.. usually u order something, see if it fits, then order more. it seems to me like you have jumped on a deal prematurely and simply got a whole lot of stuff (obviously, as its on sale and you nor I want to miss out) and then have found the product to be the wrong size… for Your body. Not worth a downvote. Just Badluck really :| sorry bud.

        • @Calcifer:

          Hey there,

Did you send me a PM or send us an email? I haven't seen anything come through yet.

          Cheers,
          Beau

        • @Calcifer:

They're an athletic cut. Some of us want don't want a drapey tshirt. You really need to measure the clothes and see if they match what is on the site. If they don't then you have a claim. If they do then the mistake is yours.

    • Measure the products. Does the measurement match what is on their site?

I found their shirts to fit similar to my other althetic wear from puma, and the fabric to be nice. I think not getting a refund for sizing issue is a pretty unreasonable complaint given it is clearance stock and the last thread included the rep advising order a size up if unsure.

      • Puma lists large as 40-42" so as in my other reply, this is pretty much on par with the METAS gear.

    • The size chart for the METAS tops states:

      Chest
      L 101-106cm 40-42in

      "Australian" sizes are more like:
Medium To fit chest 40-42" (102-107 cm)
Large To fit chest 42-44" (107-112 cm)

In fact if you check the Underarmour size chart:
      L 42-44in

So what you bought was effectively a Medium (40-42")

I would suggest measuring the chest width. And if it is less than 40", then you are entitled to a refund or exchange.

$38 still seems high for that jacket

    Great quality stuff.

Happy with my gear from Metas. Excellent price in this closing down sale.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot accept refunds or returns

Refunds and returns - your rights

Signs that say things like "no refunds", "no refunds on sale items", or "exchange or credit note only for return of sale items" are illegal

    • +3

My reading is that retailer isn’t shirking ACL obligations.

By the way, practically, how do you expect refunds or exchanges be serviced if retailer is closed down?

    • +1

      Thanks for sharing.

According to consumer law, it seems that we are covered in case of incorrect size chosen as long as the size guide is correct:
      https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/products-and-services/busine…
      http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/ftw/consumers/buying_goods…

Our size guide is accurate to the clothing and we've done our best to indicate that the sizes do run on the small side – please order a size up when in doubt.

Also, under normal circumstances, we wouldn't think twice about offering an exchange or refund, but as this is our closing down sale and the items are typically being sold below cost, we simply aren't in a position to get products back, repackage them, and send them out again due to sizing issues.

    • Context is important.

  • keen to buy but stopped by the comments about sizing. i know op suggests ordering a size up when in doubt.. but… wife wears au6 (xs) in everything. there is no doubt!..

    • +1

I bought the men's small hoodie last time (I'm usually XS or S). I found it to be a tight but acceptable fit. I would suggest trying a size S for your wife. Happy with the build quality of the hoodie so far, seems pretty premium and at this price, it's a risk worth taking

      • she wears xs and occasionally xxs with 2xu, so i'm pretty confident she is au6 actual. hmm.. tempting…

        • +4

Don't chance it mate especially if it runs small. When she couldn't fit into her usual XS she will think she's fat. If you anticipated it and order a size up she might think you are calling her a 🐄. No good can come of this.

        • +2

          @m9: WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!?

        • @m9: Because size S (Small) by definition is fat?

        • +1

          @Tiggrrrrr: Is this a trick question? :P

        • @m9: That's what she said…

  • hey since you guys are here, do you know if your fabrics are SPF 50+

  • OP perhaps amend title to Metas Athletic not Meta's.

    • +1

I read it as MEATS Athletic…

      • That might have worked as a brand name.

Hoodie and gym shorts from the last sale have been great. Good quality stuff.

  • Need new gym shorts and missed out all sold out. Is the jacket feminine build or more like unisex.

    • Hey there, sorry for the late reply.

The jacket is definitely a feminine design (the fit and the details).

  • Hi, Could someone please tell me what the inseam length is of the mens Infinite Series short? TIA
