      I welcome any knowledgeable input on expiry of minerals, vitamins or plant extracts. I appreciate there is a common notion that at midnight of the expiry date, the effectiveness drops to zero. This common but erroneous notion provides opportunity to the keen bargain seeker. If the 'toppest' quality is your need then pay top dollar for high reputation, long dated product. But if bargain seeking is your aim then be aware of some potential for opportunity here. Expiry dates are generally set with a large margin for error. Also for relatively stable compounds the expiry date can likely be exceeded substantially. I recall discussion by a Therapeutic Goods Administration staff revealing something along the lines that expiry dates for common pain killers stored correctly might give results of 70% effectiveness five years after expiry. Of course, storage in a cool, dark and dry place often helps with prolonging efficacy of supplements. Does anyone know of any factual data for the types of supplements listed above?
