2017 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Exceed Purchase Price

Anyone bought a 2017 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Exceed recently? Would like to know what people are currently paying for this vehicle. Any car dealers on here want to give me a super good deal with tow bar and mats. Located NSW.

What price have you been quoted…?

  • Only been told Recommended retail price atm. We took it for a test drive yesterday and made sure all kids were comfortable sitting in it and then left. They were busy. Too hard to negotiate with kids in tow waiting hours. Just wondering if anyone has bought one recently and price they paid. I know someone who got the exceed with heaps of accessories (towbar, window shields, mats) for $48,000 driveaway. I thought that was good. That was about 8 months ago.

    • That was about 8 months ago.

Lol campaigns change each month or 2, don't use that as a benchmark

  • Whirlpool usually have great threads for this.

  • My question is why the Pajero Sports? It is not a Pajero. Mitsbishi are cashing in on the Pajero name.

Pajero is 3.2 turbo is bullet proof , the sport is 2.45 turbo. Pajero has the proven Asin 5 speed auto as used in the Landcruiser, Pajero sport has an as yet unproven 8 speed auto plus enough electronic wizardry to drive you to distraction.

The Pajero has a 3,030 towing capacity, the Sport has an alleged towing capacity of 3,100kg. So the Sport giving away 20% power to the Pajero tows more?

Am I biased…maybe as I have a 2007 Pajero purchased new with 316,000Ks on it. I am aware of others upwards of 330,000Ks. The 3.2 motor has been around for 17 years. If it ain't broke……

      If it ain't broke……

Seems to be their strategy for the Pajero but I think it's in desperate need of a generational change.

The Pajero might be proven, but its also a dinosaur. This is coming from a previous (happy) owner. The current Gen 4 Pajero was released over a decade ago and shares most of the chassis with the Gen 3 from the late 90's.
Good car but lacking in active safety features or modern off-road features such a terrain selection or a decent low range.

Towing capacity might be close but don't forget that the Pajero can't cope with a heavy tow-ball down-load whereas the Pajero Sport can.

Both are good cars. Wish the Pajero Sport had a better rear end though.

I'm not familiar with this model. Read that a Pajero Sport exceeded its purchase price and was intrigued.

  • 48000 is expensive for only 1 car. You could get several cars for that price.

      Say what now?

Speaking of Mitsubishi, what is going on with the rear end of their new car designs? The Pajero Sport looks hideous from the back. Saw an ad for the new Eclipse Cross and thought, 'that looks nice' until I saw the back!

Is it just me or have the designers lost their glasses?

  • I recently heard of Red Plum, which are brokers that find the car you want for the cheapest possible price. I have no experience with them, but it could be worthwhile to see what sort of price you can get (I imagine if it isn't better than your own research, you wouldn't have to use them).

  • Thanks everyone. Ended up getting $7029 off RRP

    • How much was it?

      • off rrp $52k he paid.

    • How much you pay? did you use broker?

    • interested in final price too- did you get it for 45k drive away?
