NBN VoIP Plans

I connected to AussieBB but their phone plan is quite exxy as I want to have unlimited local STD's and to mobile. Is there any good plans out there besides bending over to Telstra?

Additionally, I tried finding out but I have a d6200 netgear, no voip port. should i go out a get one with a voip port, use an ata? or an ip phone?
Any info on how they work will be greatly appreciated.
Im looking on gumtree but it's quite confusing.

TIA

  • Have a chat to telecube. They have a seperate site for private users (not sure what it is). I use their business side works well (but we on a pay per minute for mobile and per call on landline plan as not many outbound calls).

  • Mate Communicate's NBN and VOIP bundle including all local, national and mobile calls for $9/month. Unfortunately, I don't think they have just VOIP plans.

Try MyNetFone. https://www.mynetfone.com.au/ I've been using them for years. Just buy one of their gadgets (phone adapter or something). They don't cost much and already set up. Plug it into your wired network. Then plug your phone into it. Get an account and select your phone number which can be localised to almost anywhere in OZ. Plans? I use one for $5 / m which includes 100 calls out (in are free) to all landlines in OZ and quite a few international destinations. Extra calls are 10 cents each. Calls are limited to 2 hours. I used to call my sister in Canberra, hit the 2 hour disconnect and then just dial again. No probs. The missus calls her brother in the UK all the time and speaks for as long as she likes.

If you are on a low data quota then this may not be for you as phone usage adds to your data usage. Voice quality is good. Until we went onto NBN we had both, a Hel$tra landline for inbound and VoIP for cheap outbound. They both came onto the one phone and we could never tell by quality which service was in use.
Disclaimer: I don't work for MNF.
