You can actually get a bit more discount (~5%) by inserting "auapi/" into the url after the "https://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/". Or, the below link:

    • thanks Hackerman

    • Do you guys think that cash rewards will still work with this new link?

      • +1

The cashrewards (Chrome) browser plugin still highlights as green, indicating it is tracking. I assume that means it will work?

    • Can anyone confirm if this is reliable or whatnot? How did you get this? Kind of curious.

  • is any worth getting dock for 217(cheapest?)

    • What's dock?

    • It's expensive but having used lenovo laptops with their own proprietary docks as the firm I work for provides them! I'd say it depends - if you are planning to use this on the go and back in the office (for a second monitor input) these things work with no compatibility issues.

If I had to pay for them initially - I wouldn't have - but with the privilege of using them over the course I'd certainly would now.

Use the Amex Offer and get 3 points for every dollar. Works out savings slightly above $50.00

  • whats the delivery time for lenovo laptops? I've heard some not so nice stories (up to 3 or 4 weeks).

    • it says 6-9 business days so that should be 2 weeks max but if you live rural, it might take longer.

    • Ordered three during the black Friday sales. They were delivered January 4th. From what I could gather, Lenovo had a massive shortage of 8GB and 16GB DIMMs. So as long as you order a laptop with 2 x 4GB DIMMs, the shipping dates should be correct. FWIW, after they notified me of the delay, I checked the website and every model I looked at that had 16GB or RAM or more had a lead time of 4 - 6 weeks.

  • Does anyone know if this laptop has soldered RAM? Also, is it possible to add extra storage i.e. a harddrive or another ssd?

    • They are DIMMs. This deal includes 2x 4GB DIMMs. It has the option when ordering to configure 1x 8GB instead (at extra cost, can't remember how much) or other configurations.

For storage, this deal includes an M.2 SSD. There is an empty 2.5" drive bay. Also an option when ordering to populate that bay with something.

  • Don't think 5% Cashrewards will work for this deal as the coupon isn't listed on the Cashrewards website.

The coupon is listed on the right inside

You are correct. I swear it wasn't there earlier today. Downvote me like the animal I am!

I'm thinking about a laptop for Uni, just for notes. This looks a bit of overkill though. Is refurb the way to go via ebay? I'm looking for a base SSD and a spend of $300-$400.

I've also been considering a Chromebook + office365 combo. Just not sure which path to go down. Any pointers?

Check Dell outlet. You may find some good deals there. They generally update their stock every Monday afternoon.

Wouldn't waste money buying the Office365 from the computer store. Microsoft often (as in pretty much constant deal) have really really really cheap offers for students. Last one I took advantage of it was only $50.

      • You get office365 for free as a uni student as far as I’m aware. I know I did anyway!

    • Yep, its called office for student, as long as you have an email account provided by the uni you get a bunch of office products for free including word, powerpoint and excel.

  • definitely deciding between this and the xiaomi mi notebook pro. Anyone have any insight as to which graphics is better, the radeon mx 550 or the nvidia geforce mx 150

  • I see this is "Ready for business." I prefer more of a mullet-laptop… Business at the front, party at the back. Will this suffice?

  • Hi guys,

Noob here. How exactly do you redeem the 5% cashrewards discount? I signed up and went through their website but the cost is higher than $874.03 and the coupon is the same as the one listed above "deals"?

    • It's because when you log in through cashrewards, you will go to the normal Lenovo page that doesn't provide the extra discount given by zrmx.

After logging in, go back to the link again from this deal and you should get the cheaper price again. I think you should still get the cashback. If you're using Chrome and have the cashrewards plugin installed, you should still see the cashrewards icon has highlighted green to indicate the the tracking is enabled. Other browsers have a plugin also, can't remember which ones exactly.

      • Thanks!

      • I am confused how this works, isn't it that for Cashrewards to track we need to buy via Cashrewards page? when i buy via Cashrewards the price is $919, this make no sense to use Cashrewards if they bump the price up to $919.
BTW, i tried and did like what you have advised, after i logged in to Cashreward i then went back to the link zrmx provided and the price now shows $874.03 but this obviously didn't go via Cashrewards page so how can i get the 5% back? Am i missing out something? Thanks!

        • If you go first through cash rewards and open the link, and then open this second link(here), the cash rewards will still able to track it, but not too sure if they will honour it

        • You can use Cashrewards to open the new tab, then just click on the E480 on Lenovo homepage. It is fairly easy to find this deal as it is advertised on Lenovo's homepage. You don't need the link from this deal.

        • @AstroPhysic: The problem is, if you just click on the link from the Lenovo page, it will take you to the standard deal. The link provided earlier in the thread (and updated in the deal here) contains an extra ~$45 discount.

So you need to open up in Cash Rewards, then manually open using the link in this deal. Better to use the Cash Rewards browser plugin so you can make sure it's still tracking.

I went ahead and bought one so I'll update in here when I hopefully receive the Cash Rewards email notification.

        • Received cashback tracking email from Cash Rewards, expected cashback reported as $39.73. Updated details in deal.

        • @troyb74: Yes I did received as well. Will be confirmed just in April.

  • so for the people who have this laptop now, is there a backlit keyboard?

    • No backlight but you can order with if you want.
