Grab those parts and place them into https://au.pcpartpicker.com/

It will help you determine an average price so you know how much you should be paying (roughly). Remember that if you wait for ebay sales and so on, you will always save more. I had to build a new rig recently and didn't have the time to wait for sales so paid pretty much close to market price for my parts. Also consider postage costs, potential warranty hassles (buying locally for a bit more over buying online so dealing with defects out of the box would be faster and easier for example) and don't forget the OS.

    Good luck!

That's about spot on for those parts Partpicker

    • Well

Prices on Partpicker are not the cheapest be found. Most of them is cheaper in Umart.
      I ordered G skill TridentZ DDR4 3000 8Gb*2 for $284 only on taobao

Total cost of my new pc should be about $2096.

      • This is a ready built system yeah? So are you factoring in labor?

        • $40-$60 more cost on labor maybe

        • @JunkeyJill95: Nah mate, uMart builds start from $99 and go up with complexity.

        • @Ryanek:

There are warm-hearted Chinese classmates know how to build up computer and happy to get $50 for 2hours' job

        • @JunkeyJill95: You asked if the uMart system was worth it, and i'm saying it's a fair price.

        • @JunkeyJill95:
where is your warranty if it gets f*d up?

        • @dasher86:

          Warranty for what ?

          @JunkeyJill95:
well if you go to umart to build it for you if they stuff up they will foot the expenses to get you your build.
if your mates stuff up well it leaves a bit of a situation on the damaged parts.

        • @dasher86:

          True.

  • www.staticice.com.au is worth a look at.

  • What's wrong with your existing machine?

    • Posting this by phone :) no machine I have

The Corsair VS550 is a pretty basic and budget power supply. I don't recommend it unless you're building a non-gaming rig, but even then with a budget of $2200 your entire system deserves a much better and higher tier PSU.

    Antec Edge
    Antec TruePower
    Corsair RM series
    EVGA B2 series

are much better ones to choose from

    • Hmm - not really necessary. As long as the power supply isn't faulty, it will provide power and your machine will function fine. Even with a high-end 1500W platinum PSU you can have a fault. There isn't much sense in overspending on a part that will not provide any gains.
Efficiency rating and potential power saving/lower bills aside.

  • 8700k ? Comes with Meltdown & Spectre. Why would you buy a CPU with hardware bug that can only be patched by software fix which in turn will be breached again and again in future, then requires more software patches.

Wait for 9700k, or go AMD Ryzen.

For ppl that's going to say AMD is in this too, well Meltdown applies to Intel only which can be executed remotely, whereas with AMD CPU it has to be in front of your PC.
