Never used one before, where is the rear camera installed?
Usually just above the number plate, if your number plate is on the centerline of the car. For cars with an asymmetric back, like 4WDs with a tyre on the back, I imagine placement will be quite tricky. Utes often mount the camera to the tow bar (or similar location if you don't have a tow bar).
Wiring can be tricky in some cars - many hatchbacks don't have the wiring for the reversing light inside the hatch, so maybe you could connect to the number plate lighting instead. But that lighting isn't on unless you turn on the parking lights, you'll have to remember to do that when you want the camera to turn on.
