Looking for High Lumen Solar Pathlights

I am looking to purchase some high lumen solar pathlights for my driveway. I have been to bunnings and most of pathlights are around 50 lumens and over $20 each - I need around 12 which is going to get expensive and to be honest I don't think 50 lumens will be bright enough. I have a long hill driveway which is quite dark at night hence why I'd like them to be bright.

Any suggestions as to where I can get some decently priced (definitely under $20 each) and higher lumen rated ?

Thank you

Ive never seen them actually work - They work for a while and then just break. Basically a garbage product.

    • I agree, we have the cheap $5 from Bunnings, I was hoping to get a recommendation for something better

I'd be interested to hear people's suggestions on this as I need some for my driveway. It's not very long but it is quite dark at night.

don't need to lit up the driveway itself

just use solar christmas led light strips on both edges of driveway

Sounds like you need a wired solution. Why does it need to be solar?

    • Because I don't want to particularly get an electrician to hardwire lights - I have a driveway thats over 30 metres long.

You can just get an outdoor junction box and hook it up yourself.

        • $37 for a lunchbox?

        • @Nugs: Yeah but your lunch won't get wet.

      • get 12v garden lights from bunnings and they last longer.

those $20 ones you will need to buy a couple of kits they'll work for a few weeks then start dying.

i gave up on them a while back after trying numerous types, yeah they look cool when they work but yeah……..

if you got the cash get them wired in the solar ones really are cheap crap that should be sold in the reject shop or something

Not path lights but these are great for the price when they're available: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/321677

Might be OK for part of an area or if you have somewhere to mount them.

Had mine for almost 2 years and they've been great.

    • Thanks, maybe they might bring them out again soon

      • They regularly sell them, I've bought them on 3 occassions.

Just have to keep checking or I usually post them here when I see them.

Good thing about ALDI is that you can return them if you aren't happy.

I've got some like these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2Pcs-Lot-Mini-Solar-Light-Co…, been running ok for a couple of years.

Reasonably bright, they usually run for most of the night. I did modify a few to drop the brightness a bit (which also gives you longer run time).

Probably about time for new batteries, but they're in spot where they're shaded during the hottest part of the day, so might still be good for a while yet. Solar panel & batteries don't like heat.
