  • Thanks! Just bought 2 for $180.60. SD bargains anyone?

  • Where / how is the best place to cable these in? I have a Passat with curtain air bags, will tucking the usb cable under the edge of the trim affect this at all?

Is it possible to have this hard wired to the car? I only have one USB socket in the car…

If tuck it just under the edge it would have zero effect. You don’t need to remove panels in most cases.

Yes you can hardwire into any car:

      1. Open the fuse box and identify which type of blade fuse you have - standard, mini, micro.
      2. Order a two position fuse tap of the identified type from eBay. Ensure it can handle the max current draw of the dash cam. Also order a converter to step the cars 12v down to 5v. Look up buck converter or similar.
      3. Find which fuse to tap. If you want it powered 24/7, find a fuse that has constant power. If you want it on only with ignition find a fuse that has power with key in ACC position. To identify this, pull the fuse you suspect is the one you need. Put one probe of a multimeter in voltage mode in the female fuse socket prongs and the other on the car metal body. Put the car in the desired state (off or ACC) and look for a areading of 12-13v. This is your socket.
      4. Install the fuse tap into this socket along with the fuse it replaces and a new one to suit the dash cam (google choosing fuse capacity).
      5. Connect the wire from the fuse tap to power in on your converter. Connect converter to ground. Connect convert 5v out to the USB power line (some other connections needed but I don’t recall right now, likely a ground)
      6. Connect to camera and tidy up.
      • Thanks for the information! Sounds a bit complex for me so I'll just swing by an autoleccy and get him to install one.

  • Thanks for posting! Was looking for a decent dashcam.
Ordered 2 from VIOFO AU using the coupon code. Paid with Paypal. Only received a payment receipt from Paypal, no order confirmation or anything else from VIOFO AU. Is that normal? There doesn't seem any way to track previous orders when you are logged in on their website(?).

I didn't receive an order confirmation of any kind either :/. Just paypal receipt. Same for another friend that ordered one as well.

I ordered last night and received an update that my order was sent at 5pm. They added a note with the tracking number. Express post via Auspost and will arrive tomorrow from NSW.

    • Same here. I ordered and only got the PayPal receipt. I’d messed up and used the wrong address. I emailed them and they said they’d updated it for me so they must have the order OK.

    • My shipping confirmation came through 1AM this morning. Probably means a delivery next Monday but not tracking available yet. Fairly prompt dispatching which I'm happy with. Thank you VIOFO. Also thanks to those who responded with their order experience.

received mine today - its not the GPS model thanks for the bump steer….

    • Support GPS Logger (included in the “2018A119” sales event)

Give them a bell, tell them to send you it.

    • I didnt get mine either.. No GPS module. It says optional on the box.
Is it possible to check if it is version 2 as well?

    • Mine did come with the GPS form this deal

      • They sent me the Module. My Box said Viofo 119 only and not 119S. Is the GPS module good to be attached or device is more stable without it?

        • I'm not too sure yet,
I'm waiting on delivery of a blackvue magic pro box to wire it up for parking mode.

  • Mine came with GPS.

  • Has anyone receivedf their order yet?

I'm still waiting a month later!
