i'm waiting for Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier Humidifier.

    • It would be interesting if they can make one, currently they advise no to use both in the same room as the purifier gets confused by the humidity

      • Sharp did that in 2012 as their plasmacluster tech requires humidity. But it wasn't a success as required too much work keeping the water tank filled. The plasma tech actually dries air a little, so for humidifiers with plasma running both in winter is a good idea.

Seems strange a purifier would get confused by humidity, which is part of the air it's supposed to clean…

        • I would guess its to do with the PM2.5 sensors that has to detect particulate matter. These professional sensors are really expensive so i believe they are using the cheaper ones. They still work but I guess they are fussy and the constant humidity difference might affects it.

      • Yeah… I've got the Sharp KCA50JW…aswesome unity. Son has asthma and is allergic to mite dust. I love how the Sharp one senses humidity in the room and adjusts accordingly. I like using it when the split aircon is working (cooling)…On hot nights, I can sleep with the aircon on and I wake up feeling great, without a "sore" throat.

I live in Queensland, don't think I want more humidity

    • +1

      But Xiaomi…

I'm thinking of running this alongside the aircon, just to remind myself I live quite well in a first world country.

  • Do we really need a humidifer in Australia?

    • +1

Probably in south Australia where it’s the driest state.

    • Syd winter humidity drops below 45%, sometimes lower than 35% which is a problem.

    • Victoria is pretty dry. While I don't like humidity, it really helps during hey fever season

    • And Darwin, where we have 8 months of dry season!

  • Does it de-humidify or just makes more humidity?

    • keep them in balance

    • +3

It's a humidifier. It pushes water into the air. I think the name generally explains things… :)

  • +1

Do these health products from China pass or comply with any of safety standards (EU or AU)?

    • +9

They haven't been tested, but i'm willing to speculate that they'll burn your house down, void your insurance, annoy your cat, turn your firstborn into a pumpkin and emit beta waves that can penetrate a consumer grade tinfoil hat.

  • Option is for CN plug wok that work for us ?

    • +1

Yes, CN plug is basically the same as AU (earth pin is longer). That said they also include an adapter for the country you order from so you're covered both ways

      • +1

The plug I got looked right, but it was upside down so I had to throw the device in the trash

        • Lol

  • thanks for the deal… anyone care to comment on this setup for kids with eczema? hot temp + dry air = no good…
    In same room,
Running air con to keep air cool.
Running xiaomi purifier to keep air clean.
Running xiaomi humidifier to keep air from being too dry from air con.

  • Edit the code does work need to sign in first

    • after signing up it worked for me.
The coupon came up as "FIXED PRICE Coupon: $129.99"

  • Not sure if i can justify the price on this one.
The good guys have "Homedics Ultrasonic Anti-Microbial Humidifier" with a 5.3L tank for $149 (no sale price). It does the same thing really.

    • Yeah, Although the smart app features might be worth it to some, combine it with Xiaomji gateway and humidity/temp/person sensor and its a bit more versitile. Also honestly I'd trust the Xiaomi brand more than whatever white label Chinese made product good guys sourced. But I do agree its not a budget priced product.

  • @exidez: I tried running AC + humidifier (no purifier) in the master bedroom (Queen-size bed with plenty of room left over) but noticed that the AC unit inside started leaking water because of all the extra condensation from the humidifier.

    • Why would you run the AC at same time?

      • Total fail huh ;) I read somewhere that the humidifier does more than put moisture back in the air, that the moisture also helps to settle airborne particles on the floor instead of flying around the house. So I put it on primarily for the 2nd reason, and I only remembered that the AC cools the air by taking out the moisture in the air when I was thinking about why the AC would be leaking water inside other than a fault/defect.

        • +1

I would look for a clog in your ac drainage system. Dust can fall into the tray and clog the drainage hole.
An AC should easily be able to handle humidity - it's not like the humidifier is raising humidity to 110%. :)

        • @eug: Hmmm I'll check it out. Thx eug.

  • Tempting just not sure if it would be worth getting
