Apartment Lifestyle - 10% off Shoe Racks

11
XMAS2010

Apartment Lifestyle are getting into the festive season by offering a discount code which offers 10% off everything store-wide (which at the moment is only shoe racks) until Christmas day.

It might be a small product range for now, but we thought we would put the discount up anyway ;)

Wishing everyone a happy and safe festive season from the team at Apartment Lifestyle!

  • A NEG from me for the following reasons.

You (and your friend/partner) tried spamming the Whirpool Forums. Since being heavily edited (your post), it is a little difficult to 'see' the spamming.
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1587889

You only have one product - the $40 Chinese shoe racks.

You promote your site/business as being a "company". However, you are a Sole Trader with a Business Number.

Your ABN does not appear on your site. Nor are there addresses, or contact phone numbers.

$7.90 off an item that appears to me to be overpriced at $79 is not a bargain. It is just a manually revolving cage on wheels. A $5-$10 rack would hold as many pairs of shoes, and would be easier to use.

    • Not disagreeing, but just a note that I believe the word "company" isn't restricted to Pty Ltd entities. Law and accounting partnerships often use the word "company" in their name, and it is possible to register a trading name with the word "company". I think it's only important that someone doesn't claim to be a Pty Ltd when in fact they are not.

      • Yeah, I think a large proportion of society at the moment seems to business and company interchangeably, but A3Australia does raise a good point that when representing a business it's probably much wiser to use the correct terminology.

  • @A3Australia,

As highlighted on the Whirlpool forum, the only mistake was that I initially did not disclose it was my business when replying to the OP. Afterwards, I did send him a Whim apologising and he seems perfectly happy with the information received thus far.

I do however thank you for alerting me to the fact the 'About Us' page did mention the word "company" as this is incorrect and has been fixed.

    • the only mistake was that I initially did not disclose it was my business when replying to the OP

      You actually hid the fact.

"It seems like a pretty cool way to store sneakers – a friend of mine has one of these in the states, but I haven't seen them in Australia."

You then included a link to your web site and on-line store.

Strange that you "haven't seen them in Australia" when it is you selling them.

Have you also added your Sole Trader status and ABN to your site?

      • Hello again, thanks for your previous feedback, the appropriate amendments have been made to the website :)

At this stage, a few things I would like to highlight:
        - We are not asking you to purchase this product if you do not like it, or feel it's not cost-effective for your situation. Our aim is to offer Australians a larger variety of products for people to choose from.
        - If a person wants to buy this product, the XMAS2010 discount code will provide $7.90 off. Again, not a necessity to use this discount code if you feel the amount does not warrant the time to type it in. I've personally entered discount codes for less though.
        - When saying, "I haven't seen them in Australia" it was meant as a broader statement in the sense that I have not seen these being sold in Australian shops, or used in Australian homes. Hopefully this clarifies any confusion you may have!
