LittleBits Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit - Robotics - $99 (Was $159) @ Harvey Norman

180

These look great for little kids - or big 'kids' buying under the guise of it being for a little one… if you get my drift… ;)

LittleBits is known for making great robotics kits. What better way to get your young ones into this, and maybe a little STEM programming, than with the Star Wars franchise version of their product line?

Currently still $159 and $160 at JB Hifi and EB Games respectively, so $99 is a decent buy to keep kids busy in the school holidays, or pop away for an upcoming birthday.

About the item

Kids can create their own Droid - including an R2 unit - and bring it to life! Using littleBits electronic blocks and the free Droid™ Inventor app, they’ll teach their R2 Unit new tricks and take it on 17+ missions. Then kids can level-up their inventor expertise and reconfigure their Droid to give it new skills, or design any Droid they can dream up. The kit comes with everything kids need to build and customize the droid straight out of the box. Initial assembly is easy with step-by-step instructions to build their Droid, and control it in drive mode, self-nav, Force™ Mode, and more. After mastering their Droid Inventor skills, kids continue on to challenges that spark creativity and get them inventing brand-new Droids.

Delivery is typically $7.95, but seems to be a bit of stock around so hopefully easy pickup for most - or use Shipster for free shipping to your secret rebel base of choice.

I whisper "lil' bits" to myself every time I see this product. Damn you Rick and Morty, you glorious bastards.

  • That's a bummer. I was looking for lil' bits years ago when I first heard a talk on TED but it was frightfully expensive. Now the kids are too ……

  • Can program? Seems like just build and play? Thanks

  • Do any big kids have this that can give a review?

I bought it. Nice if you like to design/decor the droid. But unprogrammable so sphero if u want to dev or this if u want to 'engineer'.
