Moving out - Need to Find Self Storage/Storage Facilities in Melbourne

Hey all,

We’re moving out of our apartment in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, and currently have nowhere to go.

Looking for a place to store a 2 bedroom apartment’s worth of stuff (well, two bedroom and a study).

We’re looking at Taxibox, but are just worried that we won’t have enough space on the street to park the containers.

Anyone used any moving services/self-storage that’s reasonably priced? Happy to pay a bit extra if we can use removalists too!

Thanks!

Why can't you find a place quickly to move into with all your stuff?

$100 a week and can move all ya stuff in my garage ;)

Been a long time since I used one of the storage places but they usually give you a square area that is mesh separated from other people with a lock. Make sure you use the pallet under your stuff because you can get creeping damp from the concrete. To move it hire a truck and get a few mates around and take them out for a barbeque and drinks afterwards.

    • Take them to a BBQ? Who goes out to a BBQ?

If you have packed up your house then you may not have anywhere to entertain. I was thinking about going down the river and using one of the public barbeques and a bunch of coldies.

        • Could be a goer!

          bunnings sausage sizzlers

        • @phunkydude: Would probably be more expensive than providing your own. Bunnings also won't provide you with beer. Most times I've moved I get my brothers to help.

Make sure everything is packed up before you start and breakdown what you can. Mark boxes according to the room they come from so it is easy to put everything back when the time comes.
