I ordered a couple of items from AliExpress at the end (30th) of November as Christmas presents, due to leaving it late I went with a couple of sellers that offered EMS as a free shipping option, the item prices were well above what was available from other sellers that didn't include the EMS option as free but I was happy to pay more to get the item in time.
Anyhow, one of the sellers messaged on the 3rd saying "I am sorry that your order is not shipped in time, we will deal with as soon as possible." They then provided me with a shipping number the next day for China Post Registered Air Mail
The shipping information looks a bit suspicious to me and as I still haven't received the item, I lodged a dispute yesterday for a refund, due to the limited categories for a dispute Ali give you I chose the "No tracking information" option as there was no tracking for the chosen shipping method.
I was going to just let this run its course but then today received an email from Ali (not the seller) saying that my order had arrived in the destination country, but when I go to the shipping information it still says it's in transit.
Can anyone make sense of what is happening for me? Shipping information so far is as follows
2017.12.27 07:16 (GMT-7): Shipped by air
2017.12.26 04:14 (GMT-7): Processed through facility
2017.12.26 04:06 (GMT-7): Export customs clearance complete
2017.12.26 04:05 (GMT-7): arrive export exchange
2017.12.16 07:32 (GMT-7): Shipped by air
2017.12.15 18:51 (GMT-7): Processed through facility
2017.12.15 18:48 (GMT-7): Export customs clearance complete
2017.12.15 09:55 (GMT-7): arrive export exchange
2017.12.14 13:56 (GMT-7): Received by overseas carrier
This looks like normal airmail post from China.
It can take 10 days after getting to this stage before delivery, in my experience. Add in the Xmas volumes and holidays and I would expect it to arrive imminently.
I think you should raise a complaint when it does get here that you paid extra for fast post, and would have selected another seller for slow shipping.
Ali holds the payment in escrow, so the seller is no doubt worried too!
